Poppleton Road Primary School have been so kind to send us these amazing thank you messages and homemade dog treats (which our dogs will love!) ❤

A few weeks ago, we visited the reception classes at the school to tell them all about the animals we help and what it is like to work for the RSPCA in York. We always enjoy spreading the word about what we do at the York Animal Home 🐶🐾

The Santa Paws Dog Walk raised a fantastic total of £721.89 which will be split equally between our York Animal Home, York Rotary, UK and Wilberforce Trust 🤩🐾

On Sunday we had our first Fair at the York Animal Home since the start of the pandemic. Thank you so much to everyone who came and supported us, and to our incredible volunteers who braved the cold all day! ⛄️

Our Christmas Fair will be taking place in just over two weeks 😻

Our wonderful volunteers have been working very hard and we can't wait to welcome you back to the York Animal Home.

Stalls at the fair include animal gifts, books & games, craft items, beaded gifts, jams & preserves, our ever popular 'Everyone a Winner' and lots more.

Entry is just £1 and all proceeds will directly benefit our animals at the York Animal Home 🐾🐶

Our charity shops are promoting Utilita's Wear Warm campaign. The campaign encourages households who normally have their heating over 21 degrees to ‘get cosy’ instead of ‘getting costly’.

According to Utilita's research, almost half of the UK’s households are overheating their homes which is creating carbon dioxide unnecessarily - the biggest pollutant impacting climate change. 🌎

So head down to our Goodramgate, Acomb & Selby shops, where we have dedicated 'Wear Warm' sections to help you stay toasty in your homes this winter ❄️

This time of year can be terrifying for animals. Please do everything you can to protect your pets this bonfire night.

🐾 Walk your dog earlier in the day to avoid times when fireworks might be set off
🐾 Keep your cats, rabbits and small animals indoors whenever possible
🐾 Close curtains and blinds to help muffle the sound of fireworks
🐾 Play some music to help calm your pets. Classic FM are doing a special programme tonight and tomorrow (6pm-10pm) playing classical music specifically for your fur babies. Definitely worth tuning in.

Will is lonely and needs a friend! 🐰
Will arrived in January along with his sister, but sadly he is now all on his own and needs some company. He is super active and loves discovering new things, especially when they are food related! Will's favourite time of the day is veg time and he also enjoys snacking on rich tea biscuits. 🥦
Will would prefer an adult only home but we will consider families with older children. Head to our website to apply to adopt him.

Thank you so much to everyone who came to see us at Keep Your Pet's Dog Walk yesterday! We thoroughly enjoyed chatting to you all and making a fuss of your gorgeous dogs!
