Everything is growing, where do the days/weeks go

We have a selection of Valais blacknose lambs and our shire c**t 👀🏡 come weaning

The Valais we have some pures lambs (tups and wethers) & part breds lambs (gimmers and wethers)

2 of the tup lambs are by our amazing prize winning maximum point Ram Yorkshire Jackpot out of ewes (also prize winners) with Gemstones lines. Great conformation markings and fleece.

Also available a rising 2 (September born) tup Moorside Kaleb, Proven dna tested, nice fleece conformation markings and Temperament

Our c**t is well bred very correct with the BEST temperament vlack 4 white socks and a blaze dam: Hurst Green Harlequin, Sire : Westfield Gambler

Wow its been a hot one and set to get hotter☀️

Huge thank you to all the team at Adamski Bros Groundcare Ltd for cracking on in the heat to get another stretch of fencing done for us.

They have now done several pieces of fencing work & ground work for us and we can't recommend them enough.

Reliable, hard working and do a quality job.

If anyone's looking for a fencing/groundswell team, they won't disappointed

Longest 24hrs... and not over yet😴

Beth started to drip milk 9am yesterday we knew there would be a foal that day or night

At a very reasonable hour we started 9.30 water bag and by 9.37 we had a foal. Perfect thought we'd be in bed by midnight how wring can you be🤦‍♀️

In true foaling fashion...how wrong were we. Foal very wick, trying to get up with 10 min while trying work out how to engage those legs hit her head/eye which resulted in Hyphema

A blood vessel bleeding into the space between the pupil & iris (called the anterior chamber) The blood appeared as a liquid in the front of the eye, photos in pics. She also was very steady to latch on, had the best sucking action just wouldn't go on the teat finally by 1pm was sucking👌👏

Beth not to be out done by her foal retained her placenta despite us giving a couple of doses of oxytocin by nearly 4hrs it wasnt coming away and so vets were called.

Placenta out & in tact, mare flushed antibiotics into uterus. While there vet put dye into foals eye which showed no ulceration & it would settle she's got drops to put in 4 times a day.
Vet left 4.15am 😴

Today vet back out checked eye which almost now looks clear, Beth doing well having had another flush out and antibiotics and we are monitoring her temp 3 times a day and her heart rate

Foaling...why do we do it 🤦‍♀️😴😴🤣

From day 1 was bold independent and kept us on our toes 🦶. He has the most expressive uphill paces and sure to wow the judges in the white boards

Quickly snapped up as a foal to the most wonderful of homes living his best life in one of my favourite places & where I grew up in Northumberland

A mid week celebration, today is Moor Houses King Arthur aka Artie 2nd birthday 🥳

Artie by of one of our foundation shire mares Dora by our late stallion Frettholt Joker.

He's living in best life with his new mum recently attending for the 2nd year the Heavy horse camp. Growing in confidence & gaining more life experiences all the time. With a hint of cheekiness thrown in🫣🤣

Today is a bitter sweet day marking a birthday of a gorgeous boy taken to soon

Happy heavenly birthday to Diamond Surprise aka Banjo a special boy full of character loved, adored & missed so much. He had the best life and was loved by his family and in such a short time made some lovely memories to cherish

Just like that blink😆 half term is over 🫣

What's everyone up to? Enjoy some quiet time or gutting the house after the tornado of the last week🤣

We didn't get to venture to far with a mare still left to foal, a cinema trip (can recommend the mission impossible film), the boys had friends here instead and in-between routine daily tasks cracked on with some of smaller jobs on the job list fencing, cows out, round pen is back out , little Ace had a loading practice

Here's to good week sun is out☀️ and the birds are singing🐦

We got Lucy a lesson with Nicola Wilson for xmas, what better opportunity than to go and have a lesson at Nicola Wilson Equestrian on Tues ahead of the Champion.

A wonderful opportunity to have a lesson with one of the most talented inspirational ladies in the world of Equestrianism

Following on from his half sister Lily yesterday today is Chance Encounter aka Chance 3rd birthday, another stunning example of the shire x tb we bred, he's gorgeous inside and out.

We've been lucky that since selling as a foal he's remained here on livery, he's a wonderful character to have around, easy loves people and fuss & just takes everything that is asked in his stride. He's got a bright future ahead of him

He's had a wonderful day playing with other youngsters with treats of carrots & apples

Happy 2nd birthday to this absolute stunner (by our late shire mare Duchess x Firestick - 15.2 Full TB Stallion ) Lily right from day 1 she captured our hearts with her stunning looks & temperament.
She takes everything in her stride and if it's possible she gets better and better every day

She reminds us so much of her late mum Duchess who is watching over her from heaven

She is loved so much & a huge character in her family, thank you Harriet for giving this lady the best of homes can't tell you how special she is to me 🤣

It's a birthday 🥳

Happy 3rd birthday to this beauty Dream come true aka Luna

We had privilege of having Luna back at the start of the year on livery and some playtime with her friends while her mums work commitments took over.
It was lovely to have her back and see how much she maturing.

She's the funniest character that never ceases to amaze us how she gets into situations never an injury then just stands and awaits a human rescue 🤣🙈

Never change Luna keep making everyone laugh🤣 enjoy your day

Moorhouse

Moorhouse can be found in Bransdale a peaceful part of the North York Moors. Footpaths & bridleway range cross the valley making it perfect for walkers cyclists and horse riders. Farming on 220acre hill farm breeding Swales, Mules, Leicesters, Limousin & Native Cattle.

We also breeding Shires, Shire crosses & Irish Sport horses. Producing all round types with wonderful temperments for the every day rider.

We have taken on Moorhouses following farming another Bransdale farm and were given the chance to expand and diversify. We are developing our rare breed from native cattle, Valais Blacknose sheep & the Shire horse.

As we progress we will have our own meat produce for sale from the native cows & heather fed lamb.
