We’re pleased to be launching our new Canine Socialisation Seminar, which will be taking place in November.

Presented by our founder and owner, Anna Jane Brehaut, we will look at what socialisation really means and how you can go about it safely, getting it right for your puppy or dog.

This seminar takes place on Wednesday 20 November at 6.15pm.

🤩 What a day with our 1-2-1 clients 🤩

We’ve had a very busy but awesome day today! From reactive dogs who are now able to calmly exist around and even interact with other dogs beautifully to puppies finishing their puppy packages with lovely recall, it has been such a rewarding day!

Well done to each and every one of our clients who continues to dedicate their time to training and helping their dogs, we are so proud of you! Today has definitely made me feel warm and fuzzy inside 💕 What a lovely start to the weekend!

✨Courses with Claire Brown in November - Last few spaces remaining!✨

We've had an amazing uptake for our courses with Claire from North K9 when she visits in November.

Our Tracking Day is now fully booked but we have a few spaces remaining for the Obedience Clinic Day on Friday 1 November.

This is a unique oppertunity to learn from someone who has competed internationally in the sport!

It's suitable for all levels - from complete beginner to more advanced teams.

Handler spots cost £120 and spectator places cost £45.

💫Obedience for Competition Clinic with Claire Brown! Book Now! 💫

We are delighted to be holding an Obedience for Competition Clinic with Claire Brown from North K9 when she visits the island in November.

A few of our clients asked if this was a possibility due to Claire’s experience in the sport.

Claire has taught and competed in dog sport for 20 years and is a National and International competitor. She was in the Northern Regional Team Crufts 2023 and in the FCI World Championships with Team GB in 2023 & 2024.

Claire has been training dogs professionally since 2002 and holds a First Grade Honours Instructors Certificate from the British Institute of Professional Dog Trainers (BIPDT), and is a member of the Kennel Club Accredited Instructor (KCAI) scheme.

Since founding North K9 in 2012, Claire has worked with a multitude of dogs across various classes, 1-2-1 training, and behaviour consultations. She now only offers classes in conjunction with other local trainers, to focus on providing 1-2-1 dog dog training for pets, companions, and sport dogs.

This Obedience clinic is suitable for complete novices interested in competitive obedience and also for more advanced dogs and handlers. Each dog will work twice on a 1-2-1 basis.

Handler spaces cost £120 for the day and spectator slots are available for £45 for the day.

We are delighted to announce that Anna and Sam have both passed their City & Guilds Scent Detection Instructor exam and as such now have their full C&G credentials.

We’re very proud of what they have both achieved in what has been an extremely busy year for us! Full City & Guilds Accreditation is no mean feat and we would like to thank The College Of Scent Dogs Ltd , in particular Robert Hewings & Karen, for all of their tuition, encouragement and guidance along the journey.

Anna & Sam continue with their CPD courses and are now planning for 2025!

✨NEW! Trauma Recovery Package!✨

We're pleased to be launching our new Trauma Recovery Package today.

Experiencing a traumatic event can harm a dog's sense of safety, sense of self, and their ability to regulate their emotions.

They can develop negative emotional responses and it can impact their confidence and behaviour outcomes for life.

This is why it is so important to offer support to any dog who has experienced a traumatic event as soon as possible. We can help by building resilience, growing their confidence and restoring their sense of safety.

Trauma cannot be measured - it is dependant on the individual and just because one experience might not be traumatic for one dog, it does not mean that it wasn't traumatic for another.

This package is perfect for dogs who have been through something that they are really struggling to cope with - perhaps they have been attacked by another dog, undergone a big operation, or nearly been run over. If you think your dog has suffered a traumatic event and could do with our help then please get in touch.

We are excited to be attending the West Show again this year on Wednesday & Thursday!

We will be on hand to discuss your training needs and talk about our services while also doing fittings for the Perfect Fit Harness and selling ethical training products and interactive play toys.

We have plenty of stock harness items but will also be taking orders for those who want specific colours.

Our neighbouring stall, and our good friends Search Dogs Guernsey, will also have lots of fun activities and competitions for your dogs and children, including Find the Sausage!

✨Puppy Scentwork Class Coming This Month!✨

We're pleased to be able to confirm our next Puppy Scentwork Class will start on Tuesday 27th August at 6.15pm.

This is a six-week course and costs £100. It is for puppies under six months of age.

Scentwork is a great activity to do with your puppy as it builds their confidence, provides mental stimulation and allows them to learn how to problem solve while also teaching them to be calm and patient in a class setting.

⭐️ Jess ⭐️ We have been working with the lovely Jess these last few months to build her confidence and change her choices around other dogs and strangers. She really has come a long way and while we still have some work to do, it is lovely to see how much happier and more relaxed she is 💚 Desensitisation and counter-conditioning is a powerful tool when working with behaviour, if done correctly! We've had a handler's space become available on The College of Scent Dogs' Introduction to Tracking Course, which takes place on Wednesday (17th July).

This is an amazing opportunity to learn from some of the best in the business. Rob & Karen from TCSD have a collective 60 years' worth of experience working in the London Met Police and know their stuff!

The space costs £165 for the day and the course will run from 9am - 4pm.

⭐️ Ralphie ⭐️ Cute puppy pic alert! 12-week-old Ralphie started his 1-2-1 puppy training with us today! Such a bright and sweet pup! Today we introduced the clicker, started teaching a name response, introduced some loose-lead walking exercises and started teaching ‘sit’. ✨Puppy Class - Wednesday spaces available!✨

We have some spaces available for our next Wednesday Puppy Life Skills Class. This is a 4pm class and costs £100 for six weeks.

We teach lots of life skills from focus around distractions to sit & stay, down, loose-lead, recall, settle as well as handling & preventative exercises. We also teach problem-solving & confidence-building exercises, plus lots more!
