Situated in the cliff face next to La Vallette Bathing Pools in St Peter Port is the world’s only tunnel Aquarium offering a truly unique experience for locals and visitors. Russian slave workers originally created the series of four tunnels and various cavern openings in 1864. The N***s then used the tunnels to store their military vehicles and ammunition during the Occupation of Guernsey from 30

th June 1940 until the peaceful liberation on 9th May 1945. In 1967 the Second World War tunnels were transformed into a specialist fish, local water and fish sanctuary aquarium with over 50 tanks. Major features include a Terrapin Pool with battleship gun, mines, and bespoke handmade bomb lighting, World War 2 display including a 2.5m wide Spitfire aeroplane suspended from the ceiling with parachutists hanging nearby, The Bass Tank, The Wall Tank - with John Dory and different types of rays – plus The Predator Pool - with sharks, conger eels, dogfish and lobsters. Then there is the illuminating Jellyfish tank and a very special viewing gallery called U-Boat at the rear, which has arguably the best views of the east coast cliffs of Guernsey. It’s the perfect place to relax, enjoy a coffee and take in the beautiful, and calming, views. There is also The Aquatics Shop, which has a biggest range of tanks, accessories, live fish, foods, corals and much more, at the best prices in Guernsey. Adult entry is £5, OAPS £4 and children £3. Our Story

The new gift shop stocks a range of gifts locally made by talented arts and crafters. Adult entry is £5, OAPS £4 ,children 4 and over £3.00 .Gift shop entry is FREE.
