Ghana’s National Food Safety and Antimicrobial Resistance Laboratory for Animal Health has received recommendation for ISO 17025:2017 accreditation by the Kenya Accreditation Service (KENAS). The lab, under the Veterinary Services Department of the Ministry of Food and Agriculture, was supported by to strengthen lab as part of improvement in pathogen identification and testing. This recommendation, the first to be received in the animal health sectors in Ghana, indicates the lab meets international quality requirements. Dr Bashiru Boi Kikimoto said ‘this historic milestone will revolutionise diagnostics, research and trade within animal health in Ghana’ Mofaghana, FIND, the global alliance for diagnostics, Africa CDC, Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO), World Organisation for Animal Health

WVA and MSD Animal Health 2022 scholarship call for veterinary students! This year the program will reward 80 students (3rd to 5th year of study) with a scholarship of 2,500 US dollars. Veterinary students from countries in the region of Latin America, Africa, North Africa/Middle East, and Asia/Oceania are eligible to apply.
