🤔 Did you know that the principle of progressive overload applies to more than just physical training? Whether you’re building muscles or maintaining a dog’s operational capabilities, adaptation requires constant challenge.
🔁 When we repeatedly perform the same tasks at the same intensity, our bodies adapt—but then stop improving. To grow, we must continuously and incrementally increase the level of challenge of our training.
📈 In other words, what got you here won’t get you there. The key to maintaining performance is exceeding it, by training harder, smarter, and with purpose.
🔫 Coco is training known skills, such as laser directed search, in more challenging environments. We aim to increase the area being searched while maintaining high expectations to find targets at the start at various novel locations.

Although we casually train dogs to indicate by imprinting them on toys, such as Kong, certain applications do not allow for such methods, due to the high likelihood of your dog alerting to toys during operational searches. One of the things you can learn about when joining our workshops is how you can train a solid passive indication by imprinting directly on your actual target substance along other techniques. Our dogs had the opportunity to bite our friend Bastien Marché from Educat'Eurre Canin who joined a three day 1-2-1 workshop in Nafplio on foundational decoying skills. These were some very fun days of hard training for everyone with interesting discussions on dogsport, functional bitework and dog selection in between.

🇬🇧⛑️ It is with great pride that we organized the first official search & rescue dog exam according to IPO-R 2019 regulations in Greece! 🇬🇷
🙏 Thanks to the international FCI SAR judge Tomaz Drazumeric, 9 Greek handler-dog teams tested their skills in area search and obedience-dexterity.
💪🏽We are even more proud that all of our Operational K9 SAR club members successfully passed the RH-FL V exam. Congratulations to Sofoklis Makrinos, Vivi Tsougka and Greg Magkon for their accomplishment and hard work!
🙏 We would also like to thank Borut Modic for providing organizational support as well as the invaluable help for the preparation of participants.
⛑️ We strongly believe that this event marks the beginning of a new era for search & rescue dogs in Greece, and we hope that SAR professionals, volunteer groups and civil protection associations continue to support the preparation and deployment of qualified search and rescue dog teams.
