🐾 URGENT: Help Student #212's Dog Heal from Scabies 🐶❤️

One of our dear students, #212, has a beloved pet dog who is suffering from scabies. This painful skin condition is causing the poor pup a lot of discomfort, and we’d love to help her get the treatment she needs.

The cost for medication and care is $200, and we’re reaching out to our community to see if anyone can pitch in to help this family. Every little bit counts — whether it’s $5, $10, or simply sharing this post.

Thank you so much for the donations that we have received for the little puppy, Paddy.
She was in much worse shape than we thought. She had a big cyst on her back leg that they had to open and drain the abscess. We have a video of this; if anyone would like to see it, please let me know, and we will send it to you. I don't want to post it directly as it is a bit shocking. She was also dehydrated and malnourished. Thanks to you, she is at the vet right now getting treatment.

Zoe was in San Jorge today when this little puppy was found lying outside near our Elderly Care center. She ( for it is probably a girl, as many girl dogs are thrown out in the street) , she is only a baby and she is suffering from mange. Zoe picked her up, this poor little puppy will not survive as no one will want to touch or feed her or take her home while she has this disease. We have sent her to the vet but we are asking please for funds to help cover her medical costs. We will need to get treatment for the mange, and get her vaccinate and have paraiste medicine,.
The costs will probably be around $200 US by the time she receives these on going treatments.
Please help with any small donation you can towards helping this little one...I think we should call her Paddy!

December has started with three little, terrified puppies being left in a box at our door. They are really traumatised these little ones and we have them in a room by themselves but they are scared of everyone.
We need to get them to the vet to be vaccinated and dewormed.
The cost for each puppy is $85 US. If you could help us by sponsoring a puppy to have her life-saving vaccinations, we would be very grateful. We have not checked but they are usually female dogs that are abandoned.

Apart from this, we need help for their food until they are old enough to be spayed and then we will, hopefully, find homes for them. Please consider sponsoring a puppy for just $10 US per month. You can name the puppy if you would like to sponsor her.!

Please meet one of the 6 cats that we have in our care. "Rojo" which means Red in Spanish was rescued as a kitten. We had her for a year and then she was lucky to be adopted by an American woman who loved her. She had two lovely years as a beloved cat and then unfortunately, the owner became very ill and had to return to the US to go into a nursing home, so she could not take Rojo. We took Rojo back to our shelter which had over 20 cats at the time and she was so miserable and depressed. It took her some time to come around. She now sleeps in the caretaker's room and as she is now probably around 5 or 6 years old, she has a very slim chance of being adopted again. She is a sweet cat but very cautious around new people.
If you would like to help us to be able to feed and care for Rojo we are hoping to find someone cat-loving person who would consider donating $10 US per month to Rojo for her food. It is a huge struggle for us to have enough money to feed the over 46 animals in our care daily.

Toby, the little blind dog that was abandoned and rescued by Zoe from Fundamaya came back to our house last week. He had been adopted by a family who seemed to be great and really liked Toby and was willing to look after him with his lack of sight. Sadly, after about four months they decided that they did not want him anymore and brought him back. We are glad they brought him back rather than dumping him. But poor Toby now has another place to process again. Here he is arriving back ...hopefully, the smells will make him realize he is home and will be safe. We are in desperate need of help to feed all the animals we have plus Toby now has to be bathed and trimmed again. If you would like to sponsor Toby for $10 US per month, we would be very grateful. I am very sad to say that unfortunately the very sweet dog that we had hoped to operate on, went downhill rapidly, and the vet. was unable to operate and we had to make the decision to put him to sleep. A horrible decision and not one taken lightly but the alternative was that he would be suffering and there was little chance of survival with the operation. I want to thank everyone who cared about this poor dog and had hoped like we did that he would have a happier outcome. We greatly appreciate the donations that paid for his medical care, medications, xrays etc. Thank you so much for having such caring hearts about the homeless dogs and cats here in Guatemala.

Update on the abandoned dog. We sent him to the clinic and they did an x-ray and he has a very bad bone fracture in his hind leg. He may have been hit by a car, a motorbike, someone may have kicked him. He is a very slight dog, looks like a Maltese Terrier and he is very underweight and anemic. After consulting with the local vet and the US. vet. who volunteers with us, we decided to go ahead with the operation as the only other alternative was to put him down. He has already suffered so much and he is such a sweet boy we are hoping that we can give him a chance.

I have photos of the break and am happy to send them to anyone who would like to see them. I don't want to post them here as they may be too much for others to see.
