Baby puppies!! 🐕🐕🐕🐶🤯
Have you ever heard that metal song: "Too many puppies"? 😂 That's the kinda song in my head right now! 🤣
But in all seriousness, this is just another day in the life of dog rescue. Even when you don't believe you have the capacity to help more, in special circumstances and emergency situations we are here to do the job no matter what. ✅

That is what true rescue is all about! 💫

You should never overextend the group beyond their means in a rescue organization, because then the animals can suffer instead of being helped. However we are lucky that our team is GROWING everyday and we know we have the staff for the rest of the year capable of handling these pups!

We will be working on 3 main elements for these pups:
1️⃣ Recuperation from illness: mange, bugs, worms.
2️⃣ Vaccination + Sterilization for safe and healthy lifestyle.
3️⃣ Adoption to the right home! 💝

Mexican-Cleo! 😂🐕👒🇲🇽🪇
This is just a really cute photo one of our volunteers photoshopped recently who is just in LOVE with Cleo. ❤️🥰🐕
Cleo is a special dog who has been at the sanctuary as soon as we had a "volunteer house". She grew up with us as a very tiny baby puppy, eventually transitioning into the big dog sanctuary, where despite having been here for years, does not perfectly fit in with everyone. 🥲

Cleo therefore has high levels of anxiety when she has to wait inside for many hours, she is one of the best dogs to be able to benefit from a foster or adopted home. Our volunteers love Cleo and would take her with them to their home countries if they could, but we all know how difficult and for most impossible this is. 😵‍💫

For this we're asking if anyone loves Cleo and wants to be able to adopt, Foster, or sponsor her: Cleo could use your help! 🏡🐕💞 She's incredibly sweet incredibly good on a leash 🦮 incredibly well-behaved, loves to eat 🍖, and very easy to get attached to you. She is a tiny little angel dog and would improve the life of anyone who took her in.

Shakti! ⭐
A very special dog with a special history, Shakti was one of the earliest dogs we ever received, and it was before the sanctuary was built! (That means she's been in our care over 2 years!)

Shakti is EXTRA sweet, cuddly, gentle, an off-leash approved dog for all occasions, almost 3 years old, fixed and vaccinated, she is READY for her forever home! 🦮💫😏

Shakti has been through the ringer: she was brought to us WITH Distemper, and had intense and horrifying seizures. Also experiencing mange on intense levels, she had a litter of puppies in the past, and she has been moved multiple times around the lake.

Shakti does have an excellent sponsor who donates every month to make sure she's okay and has her needs met. We are SO grateful to every sponsor who helps make sure our doggies have all their needs met. 🎁❤️🙏

Zeus: adopted!! 🤩🥹🎉
And perhaps what is the best day possible at a dog sanctuary, is when a dog gets adopted! 🙌🌟

It's especially great when it's with people that we know from nearby where we can watch the dog grow up and check on them whenever we wish. This is a very special relationship we get to develop with the locals in this process. 🤝

We have been looking so hard all year long for adoptions, and sometimes when we least expect it they show up! I got a phone call 2 days ago from this man who has seen us walking up and down the roads every day with dogs. Recently his own family dog passed and they were looking for another one. The timing could not be better: and they fell in love with Zeus! 🤯 💫

This family 👨‍👩‍👦‍👦 seems to like our dogs 🦮 and potentially could take more into their home in the beautiful San Marcos. This is proof positive that building relationships with locals is how you make a charity operation work in its finest. They benefit, we benefit as well, and that our mission progresses and we can rescue other dogs that need it.

Yollah!

Yollah is an incredibly cute puppy, something like a strange mini-German Shepherd mix 🤣

Only a year and a half old, fixed and vaccinated, she is a super sweet addition to any individual or family. Tiny, less than 20 lbs, she's a little baby dog. 😆🐕

She's highly energetic but very trainable. Her recall is not perfect but she's an angelic leash-walker. Has the potential to be a super-trained dog. 😎🐕‍🦺

Bobby's back!! 😍🎉
After 3 days of wondering where to find Bobby, he had gotten lost only so close to the sanctuary. That's why it was so strange he was missing for so long.

One of our volunteers was walking downtown and saw Bobby behind a fence that belonged to somebody with other dogs, the nice gentleman had let Bobby into his house and kept him safe for these days! 😳 Wow! Thank you good Samaritan! ⭐

We're so grateful to have Bobby back in our arms again! He's a precious little angel, very well behaved, and will be looking for his forever home. Just a nice good story for the day, and thank you everyone! 🙏❣️

Anybody can come for a day just to do a waterfall hike with a dog! 🐕 You can go alone, or you can go with some of us, we have daily visitors and volunteers at the Sanctuary happy to assist with walking during the hours of 10-4 pm.

Adoption campaigns: 13&15, Sox & Sandy!!
These 2 dogs have both been at the Sanctuary longer than most. You can say they're part of our "first gen dogs" 😄

Sandy ( #15) was a hilarious story: she followed our volunteer DeAndre from another town who was walking dogs. I guess she thought our pack looked cool and wanted to see what it was all about 😂

She, in fact, was only the second dog in the sanctuaries history that "walked into" the sanctuary by her own volition, which is a hilarious thing for a dog to do. Guess dogs just do what they do, so we took her in. 🤷‍♂️ She has always fit in well and loves the sanctuary.

However she is atleast a couple years old now and can use a forever-home: she's off-leash trained, fixed and vaccinated, and non-violent. Truly just a perfect low-key companion dog. 💕🐕😁

Sox ( #13) was part of the first group of puppies to ever live in our "puppy house" when the sanctuary opened. With Mercurio, Rata, Kuku, and a few other cute pups. Rata and Kuku have since been adopted, but Mercurio remains with us.

Sox is REALLY sweet and cuddly and we joke she is the "fatty" of the group 😂 she is fixed and vaccinated and on & off leash trained. An excellent and chill companion.

If you've EVER considered adopting a rescue dog, please make it from our rescue. We have so many dogs who have been here longer than 2 years, absolutely ready for the best life they could ever live. That could be with you.

Tiny baby Simba! 🐶
A.k.a. Jinglebells, Rambo, Shtinkepoops, and probably many more...😂

Simba is an adorable little pup who we are almost positive is the sibling of Milagro (aka Machete puppy)! They have a very similar face, and same age and almost same size exactly. They love to play together and act as siblings, so we're pretty confident of this one.

Simba is looking for his forever-home! 🐶🏡
Simba LOVES to play with other dogs, cats, kids, and any gentle or playful souls. He loves barking 🤣, but it's usually his way of trying to get attention! Quite a sweet and adorable pup, very tiny and would fit inside Shaquille O'Neals outstretched hand ✋ 😗
He is vaccinated ✅ (but not yet sterilized 🚫), however will be funded💲 for sterilization by us for whoever does adopt him.

Foster program is doing well!
Only a week or so of promotion and we are getting dogs out of the Sanctuary and into friendly homes! 💪🐕‍🦺😁
This provides a HUGE relief to the sanctuary as we're able to do everything we need to do with more ease, tranquil environment, and the joy and satisfaction of seeing these foster dogs happy faces everyday we visit them. (Or, when they visit us! 😂🌞)

Juana is staying in Tzununa, very close to us, so if he ever gets out he comes right home so we can keep him safe. Our dogs are so well-behaved if they get out their first instinct is to find "home", i.e. the Sanctuary.

❗They do not run away because they get their needs met! ❗

So if you want to foster a dog, if you think you can fulfill their basic daily needs (go out for walks, food daily, water always, etc.) you can help a sanctuary in need! Reach out if you're interested in fostering OR adopting! 😁🙏

Such an amazing dog, Aly was given to us by a couple German friends who are our neighbors in Tzununa. She was just 6 months old at the time, and super-energized. She's STILL super-energized, and that's why we're looking for a foster for her especially!

Aly is spayed, vaccinated, atleast 1& 1/2 years old, and can play fetch and other games! 🥎😆

We will provide you dog food, for as long as you need, if you can keep a dog in your home or yard for any period of time! The idea is you help us find a new home for them eventually. If you're not able to take care of a foster anymore we will take them back at any time.

❗Artemisa update!! ⚠️ How is Artemisa?? 🤔 Finally has Artemisa come out of the local vet! The amazing vets at @clinicavetitlangt were able to clean her wound out immensely and give her proper high level antibiotic treatment! We just paid the full bill of all of this hard work! Despite the large amount of time and energy they have put in, they are not confident they are the experts to do a perfect skin grafting operation on this high level need dog. ❗ We have the specialist confirmed tomorrow! ✅⚕️We leave at 4:00 a.m. 🌞 and we'll get her all the way to the city. We will let you know how she does, in transit and at the hospital, and what we learn from there. 🥹👏 Thank you for your donations, so far artemisa's bill has been totally covered 👌✅ for this first part, but now the biggest operation comes next! 🚨Artemisa is in trouble! 😵‍💫 🔴 In a very horrible freak accident, Artemisa has been attacked by a pack of dogs! 🟠 We explain in the video how this happened, but Artemisa is currently at the vet under intensive care, but needs to go to a specialist! 😲 🟡 This is very reminiscent of the Milagro incident, where we have a dog with such severe injuries our local vets are not capable of solving her issue. We need the city specialists! ⚕️🧑‍⚕️🐶 🟢 The same challenges from them are the same now. We need to find 1. A private driver who can take her in a way where her injuries will not be bothered. 2. An estimation of time, cost, and capability for her to heal. 3. The specialist to agree to take on the job! 🔵 As well, the sooner we can do this the better. The wound may not be able to properly heal in the environment of the veterinarians care unit. How is Mr. Fuzz? ⭕🐶 Well, not so good. Mr. Fuzz has passed away this morning, as of 09:00 am on this 8th of November. ✝️🐶😭 This is very hard for all of us, but it is a part of the rescue life. Thank you to everyone who donated for him, his vet bill was covered and your extra donations will allow us to cover another puppies (Artemisa's) medical bills as she got into a nasty scuffle yesterday as well. We also have a new puppy that literally came today, weirdly on time to soften the blow of the loss of Mr. Fuzz. 😔💔 You can see the new puppy on the cover and in the video. 🐶🎥 Thanks for those who supported us and continue to do so for our efforts and for the dogs in our care.

Mr. Fuzzers is ill 😥 We don't know what's going to happen with him, he got very sick just in the night last night. When we noticed his energy was down we gave fresh water and chicken. He ate VIGOROUSLY and we were really happy with his energy increase. We found this morning he threw it all up and has diarreah. The symptoms are VERY reminiscent of Parvovirus (like Bugsy had). Bugsy DID survive but she seemed in a much stronger position than Mr. fuzz. Puppy vlog! 🐕📹😉 Taking care of puppies in a rescue is a lot of work. Even though we have been over capacity, we had no choice but to take in these puppies from Town center, lest they fall into ruin. In one of our spare volunteer houses we've kept as many as four of them, with a few of them getting out almost daily, because they are in our extra space which is not connected to the main dog sanctuary. Sometimes these puppies get in trouble! This puppy snuck out and must have ripped a hole in its skin from a barbed wire fence. Puppies are always trying to get in and out of fences and this is very common, and the fences are designed to hurt animals so that they learn not to cross their borders. With puppies injury we have been treating her and taking care of her, we called the vets (plural) today and not a single vet would agree to see this puppy today. So we had to take matters into our own hands! Puppies doing better by the minute, and finally ate some cooked chicken today which really perked all of us up as puppies health is improving. We will see who can help us take care of this puppy and perhaps get its open wound stitched, or whatever may be necessary for her. Short on dry food! 😧🥩🐕🐕‍🦺 Because of the recent holiday dia de los muertos, all the stores in our town have been closed the last few days. We've been waiting anxiously for the stores to have dry food to re-up the sanctuaries dry food storage. Because of the recent shortage, we've been needing to use alternate foods the last 3 days. This is NOT 🚫 our desired food amount and is below the required needs the dogs have. However: good news! 🗞️ We reached out on the internet to find a nice group of people who are bringing dog food from Antigua all the way to our little Tzununa. I haven't heard back from them for the last few hours but hopefully that means they are in transit on the way 😬🤞 Either way: we managed to give our dogs lots of raw meat, chicharrones, papaya, milk, and all kinds of little things to help appease their appetite. But now the dry food is needed more than ever! Hopefully it comes soon, but even if not the stores should have the dry food early tomorrow Monday morning. Pupdate! 🐕🗞️❗ The group of four puppies, that has slowly grown since we found each one, are doing very well right now. 💫🙏 🔴 Just days ago they were missing a lot of fur and covered in fleas and ticks, as well as showing signs of being very hungry since we found them crawling around looking for food in a garbage pile. 🗑️🐕🌭 🟡 The puppy with the injuries improving, who you can see clear in the video and how the wound is healing. ✅ 🟢 Lastly, we received your generous donations from my request in the last two days.
