Very cool shot of the new Dog Sanctuary!🤘

I call it new, but it's been about 6 months.
It takes some time to get things crackin! 😁

This picture perfectly encapsulates the wildness, the craziness, and the method to the madness that is the new dog sanctuary.

We chose the location, however we basically just had to move the dogs as soon as possible into new territory. It's been a wild 6 months, however it has worked. We are so grateful for our home for the dogs and ourselves, even without a bathroom or electricity. 😅⚡️🚽🧻

Everyday we make it better, and that's a fact.
On to a new day! 😆

Queen Quixaya (now Kushy 🤣) fostered! 🥳🌟

This post just emphasizing Quixaya (affectionately nickamed 'Kushy' by Sahel 🙂)
Is in a special new space hosted by our awesome partners. Quixaya will have easier feedings, more personal time and love, and an overall better experience in a beautiful new space.

A throwback to the beginning.
Perros Libres origins: Tzunun and the first Sanctuary.
This Photograph was taken over 3 years ago, when we just began building the very first structure on the dog sanctuary. This was to be the place all the dogs was sleep, for their lives inside the sanctuary.

Little did we know, 3 years later, would we open a second location and move the majority of dogs there. If only we knew how temporary everything is, and how delicate and precious every single day is.

Little did we know Tzunun only had a couple years more before her cancer started to develop. She's now in a better place, and in a different way, so are all the dogs on the two dog sanctuaries.

They're more spread up, divided in different locations, and therefore much easier to manage. It's a little more complicated to feed the different groups, but that's the biggest of our problems. As long as the humans work together well, all the dogs get taken care of well.

If only we knew how far we would come. It really would have motivated us, as we've truly come a long way.

We'll miss you Tzunun, but the times we spent together helped us build the sanctuaries for all the dogs we now have. Thank you.

Linda goes to the vet! 🏥⚕️
Now she's feeling better! 😁🙏🌟
After 2 days of no eating, no energy, and Linda acting like the opposite of the dog we know so well: we knew we needed to get her to the vet.

Our trusted vets at did an excellent job with her: identifying her problems with a blood test and now we have prescriptions and a diet list to help her. ✅️💪🐕

So we can't know exactly how she got sick in the first place, it's very likely she ate some trash outside of the sanctuary that started to make her sick. And her hemoglobin, meaning red blood cells, we're extremely low to end a dangerous point which ended up giving her a fever and lack of energy. After her vet visit her energy picked up, her appetite returned, and now she's definitely going to get better!

Thank you for being her sponsor, and making sure she got everything she needed so we could validate what ailed her, what she did NOT get, so we know exactly how to treat and quickly reinvigorated her to excellent levels. Great work from the vets!

Here you can see some pics of her journey, and now we go home for safe and happy sleeping at the Sanctuary! 😄 thanks to everyone who make this work possible!

Day by day we cannot know what life will bring us.

Entire lives can change in a single day: and they often do.

Sometimes when we feel stuck, we must ask ourselves:
"How did I put myself here?"
And if the questions begs it:
"How do I want to change it? How CAN I change it?"

Let us all find the change we seek in the world.
And may peace be upon us all in these trying times. 💫
