Prayers for Salchica! 😢🙏
Puppy emergency! 🚨
The little puppy named salchicha has gotten a gastrointestinal infection. We got her taken to the vet a few days ago for treatment, however despite taking medications it developed into what is known as an a**l prolapse. 😳 ⚠️
This is a very dangerous inverting of the colon outside of the body, when it requires surgery to fix. We opted to go for surgery instead of euthanasia because this is our way, and we always fight for life. ☝️The vet has told us there's no guarantee she will live which is to be expected, however she's currently with the vet now and over the next days we will update on what happens with her.
If you would like to donate to help support her Veterinary Care, it would be a great help.
So far we have paid $110 USD but will require another $90 at minimum for the price the vet has given us. (1500 Q). We are grateful to have the ability to pay for the veterian care we can get when it's greatly needed. Thank you to our supporters, and let's say prayers for Salchica. 🥺🙏

Always more rescues!
Another sweet, innocent rescue dog found today by a a lovely woman who came to learn about the Sanctuary. This dog has been seen many times (though I never noticed them), and our very cool .nomade was able to go and get him.

Another pup adopted!🎉😁
Missy: we'll miss you! ❤️🐕‍🦺👋
🔴Missy came to us as a straggly, scraggly street dog who really needed some help. We've had her only a couple months now, and ever since the move we've been very overfilled with dogs.
🟠It is a supreme blessing of the highest order that we have more and more locals asking us about dogs to adopt.
🟡 Rather than having too many dogs at the sanctuary, which makes it harder to manage the care of the animals, we are prioritizing adoptions for any pup or dog we can get rehabilitated.
💚 This is absolutely essential for the sanctuary to run with a healthy balance, as a small staff and small locations requires an appropriate amount of dogs per location.
💧We are so grateful to find Missy a happy home, and that the locals come to pick out dogs when they know there is a place to go for them!🙌

Teaching puppies to jump over water!💧
🔴Here is a real life example of teaching puppies younger than 4 months how to walk off leash with a pack.
🟠In this specific example we show what it's like to help them gain courage to learn how to jump over a fast stream.
🟡This is called Pack building and confidence building at the same time! These puppies are getting strong and smart quick.

This is one of the best parts of their day and we love doing this with them too.

Introducing a dog to our 30-pack! 😲
Check out how the dogs welcome a dog who's never been inside the sanctuary before. This is what it's like to have two locations, a dog gets broken in at the easy one, and then as you see here gets brought into the bigger one when they're ready.

Though there are risks to doing it like this, I am very confident with my pack and I know that they will treat new dogs with respect. However they need a guide or Guardian to make sure that it's done smoothly and nicely, to not traumatize the dog. Welcome Dante!

🔴 We had a little Rosh-Hashanah dinner at Perros Libres yesterday, and it was very sweet. 🟠 The Jewish people celebrate this day (starting last night) as their New Year celebration.
🟡 Fascinating that it occurs on the same as the Fall Equinox! ☀️
💚 Welcome this new time with gracious energy, appreciation, and reflecting upon what things from the last year have occurred. It helps us welcome a better new year and future!
