If you need to turn in an animal or want to schedule a time to visit/adopt, please call 653-4246 prior to coming to the shelter. GAIN is OPEN:
Monday through Sunday 9am-5pm (closed 12pm - 1:30pm)
*ALL animal drop offs must be scheduled in advance by calling 653-4246, emailing us at [email protected] or messaging us on social media.

sitation walk-ins are welcome between 1:30pm-4:30pm, but we do still encourage scheduling an appointment with us. GAIN is CLOSED (except for emergencies):
Easter Day, Thanksgiving Day, and Christmas Day

If you have an emergency (animal is sick, injured, dying, or has bitten/attacked) please call the office number. If the emergency occurs while we are closed, please call our Emergency Number: 988-1615. We can accept EMERGENCIES at any time. An emergency includes an animal that is sick, injured, dying, or has bitten/attacked. Please note, we cannot provide advanced veterinary care, but for serious cases we can provide humane euthanasia. If your emergency occurs while we are closed, please call: 671-971-6068.

🌟 Thank You, Guam! Our Cats Are Purring with Gratitude! 🐾🐱

Not long ago, we reached out to our amazing island community for help when our shelter ran out of wet cat food — and you showed up big time! 💛

Thanks to your generosity, we raised over $950 (almost double our goal of $500!) and received countless donations of wet food dropped off directly at our shelter. Because of your kindness, we’ve been able to restock not only wet cat food but also cat litter, helping us care for both our shelter cats and those in foster homes.

We’re always in need, but your support has put us in a much healthier position to care for our feline friends. From all of us at GAIN — and especially from the cats — Si Yu’os Ma’åse’ for helping us keep their bellies full and their paws clean! 🐾💖

🐾 Meet Jules — One of Our SNIP Superstars! 💉🐶🐱

If you’ve ever brought your pet to our SNIP (Spay & Neuter Island Pets) clinic, chances are you’ve met Jules — one of the dedicated team members helping make affordable animal care a reality for Guam’s pets and strays.

Jules says what she loves most about working at SNIP is knowing that the work truly matters. 💚

“It feels good to know we’re helping animals who wouldn’t otherwise get care. The team’s sense of purpose — and the fact that everyone genuinely cares — makes it such a great environment to be part of.”

Even on the tough days, Jules keeps showing up because of the animals and the small victories along the way — a successful surgery, a grateful client, a pet on the road to recovery.

Her favorite rescue story right now? Her foster dog, Scooby! 🐕

“He came in needing medical attention, and it’s been really special to watch him heal and come out of his shell. Seeing him transform from scared and hurting to happy and ready for adoption reminds me why this work matters so much.”

Jules’ shelter superpower?
🩸 “Blood draws — especially the tricky ones! I seem to have a knack for finding veins that like to hide.”

She’s looking forward to continuing to help more animals get the care they need and expanding GAIN’s outreach in areas of Guam that need more support and education.

And she hopes the community remembers:

Hi there! My name is Googly Moogly — and yes, I know, my eyes make me look a little different! 👀🐾

I was born with a special eyelid condition that makes my eyelashes rub my eyes sometimes, and my pupils don’t always match in size — but that doesn’t slow me down one bit! I get soothing eye drops twice a day to keep my eyes comfy and healthy, and I’m as playful, loving, and goofy as any kitten out there.

Here at GAIN, we know that animals who aren’t “perfect” still deserve homes filled with love. 💕 Sadly, adopters haven’t been coming forward for sweet Googly — she’s been here nearly a month and has watched other kittens come and go. She deserves her chance, too.

Our shelter cats (and the many kittens in foster homes!) are running low on wet food — and we could really use the community’s help. ❤️

👉 Our kittens especially love pâté-style wet cat food, but we’ll gratefully accept any brand or type.

👉 We have plenty of dry food, but our cats rely on wet food for hydration and balanced nutrition — especially the little ones and seniors.

🏠You can drop off donations any time between 9 AM – 4:30 PM (closed 12–1 PM) at GAIN in Yigo.

Our shelter kitties (and foster cats across the island) are in urgent need of cat litter. Did you know that we go through over 20 lbs of litter every single day? That’s hundreds of pounds every week just to keep our cats clean, healthy, and comfortable.

Cat litter is one of the most essential supplies we use:
✨ It keeps our cats’ kennels sanitary and odor-free.
✨ It helps prevent the spread of illness in the shelter.
✨ It makes fostering possible by giving families the tools they need to care for cats in their homes.

Without it, we simply can’t provide the safe and clean environment our cats deserve.
