If you need to turn in an animal or want to schedule a time to visit/adopt, please call 653-4246 prior to coming to the shelter. GAIN is OPEN:
Monday through Sunday 9am-5pm (closed 12pm - 1:30pm)

If you have an emergency (animal is sick, injured, dying, or has bitten/attacked) please call the office number. If the emergency occurs while we are closed, please call our Emergency Number: 988-1615. We can accept EMERGENCIES at any time. An emergency includes an animal that is sick, injured, dying, or has bitten/attacked. Please note, we cannot provide advanced veterinary care, but for serious cases we can provide humane euthanasia. If your emergency occurs while we are closed, please call: 671-971-6068.

🎆🇺🇸 Happy 4th of July from GAIN! 🇺🇸🎆

We’re wishing everyone a safe and fun Independence Day! While fireworks are fun for us, they can be stressful—and even dangerous—for our furry friends. 🐾

Here are some important tips to keep your pets safe tonight:

🔒 Keep pets indoors – Fireworks can frighten animals, causing them to bolt or hide.
🎶 Create a calm space – Use a quiet room with the TV or music on to mask the noise.
🦴 Give them toys or treats to help keep them distracted.
📛 Ensure they have ID – Collars with tags and microchips make reunions possible.
🚪 Secure all doors and gates – Even normally calm pets may try to escape when scared.

🚨 If your pet goes missing:
Contact GAIN at (671) 653-4246 or message us on Facebook/Instagram.

Send us a clear photo and description (name, breed, color, last seen location).

Check with neighbors and post on community lost & found pages.

Visit the shelter to see if your pet has been brought in.

🐾 Thank You, Kynd Tattoo! 🐾

We are beyond grateful to our friends at Kynd Tattoo for hosting an incredible animal-themed flash tattoo fundraiser to support Guam Animals in Need! 💉🐶🐱

Thanks to their creativity, compassion, and generosity — and to everyone who came out to get inked in the name of animal welfare — they raised an amazing $1,300 for our shelter! 🙌💛

These much-needed funds will go directly toward replacing and repairing aging equipment that helps us care for the hundreds of animals who rely on us every day.

Supporting local shelters like GAIN means more than just keeping the lights on — it means:
✨ Giving homeless pets a second chance
✨ Providing vital medical care
✨ Offering safe shelter, food, and love
✨ Helping our community reduce overpopulation through spay/neuter programs

🐾 FROM SURVIVORS TO THRIVERS 🐾

We have 3 incredibly special animals here who are ready to find the loving homes they truly deserve. All of them came to us from a recent hoarding situation. While we can’t share specific details, and kindly ask that speculation be kept out of the comments, we hope we can shift focus to what we can do: help these amazing animals heal and find forever homes. 💛

✨ Sq**rt – This brave little pup is one of the few survivors of Parvo from her litter. We’ve already found loving homes for two of her siblings, and another, Moonie, is still recovering in foster care and will be available soon. Sq**rt is the sweetest soul — gentle, affectionate, and so eager to love and be loved. She melts into your arms and is desperate for a family to call her own. After everything she’s endured, she truly deserves a safe, cozy home to finally grow up in. 🐶❤️

🐕 Courage – A 2-year-old boonie boy who lives up to his name. Courage is always wagging, always friendly, and always ready to make a new human friend. He’s wonderful on a leash and the kind of dog who makes you feel instantly at ease. He’s been nothing short of a gem at the shelter. 💖

🐾 Dauntless – This 1-year-old shmedium queen (yes, she’s pocket-sized!) has no tail but ALL the personality. Known for her signature “wiggle butt” greeting and endless affection, Dauntless is the kind of dog who brightens even the hardest days. She’s a cuddle champion and a guaranteed mood booster. ☀️🐶

We know their past is heartbreaking—but their future doesn’t have to be. Let’s help rewrite their story together. If you’ve been thinking about adopting, now is the time. 🏡✨

🚨 Important Intake Update 🚨

We are currently experiencing a high demand for animal intakes, with over 100 animals already scheduled to enter the shelter in the coming weeks. As a result, some intake appointments are now being scheduled 2–3 weeks out, especially for adult animals.

❗ We cannot accommodate last-minute surrender requests, especially those made just days before flying off-island. Lately, we've seen a concerning trend of individuals reaching out only 1–2 days before departure, expecting to surrender multiple animals. Unfortunately, we do not have the capacity to accept animals on such short notice.

👉 If you know you are leaving island and cannot take your pets with you, please contact us as early as possible so we can work together to find a solution. You can call us or message us on social media to get on the schedule.

At GAIN, our mission is to save and rehome as many animals as possible. That means we must manage our daily intake numbers carefully to avoid ever having to consider euthanasia due to space.
