‼️BAN THE BANG‼️

The festive seasons are upon us again and many persons are tempted to use to fireworks as a form of celebration. However, they are both illegal and dangerous.

Below are a few disadvantages of using fireworks.

– Illegal use of fireworks can be dangerous to you and to others, and is a public nuisance.

– People who use fireworks carelessly, or without knowing what they’re doing, can be killed or maimed. They can also kill or maim others.

– Fireworks can burn down houses, cause fires, frighten children and adults, and terrify pets and wildlife.

– Noise from fireworks can cause distress, especially as fireworks can sound like gunfire. The noise can also cause tinnitus and deafness, or aggravate a nervous condition.

– People who suffer from asthma can experience discomfort, and epileptics can experience seizures following fireworks’ displays.

– Money spent on purchasing fireworks can be more meaningfully used to purchase a household item, feed the a homeless or strays, or be saved for some other use.

‼️HOW OFTEN IS TOO OFTEN?‼️

So the big question is, how often should a dog get a bath?

Our response is usually at minimum, ONCE A MONTH (unless your dog thinks he or she is a pig and loves to roll around in muddy puddles).

Excessive bathing is one of the leading cause of hair loss in dogs. Dogs skin produces natural oils that forms a protective barrier that that keep the skin and hair moist and keep bacteria and fungus out.

Excessive bathing removes this protective oily coat leading to a dry itchy skin. The dog will eventually ( over a period of several months) start losing its hair while excessively scratching leading to skin infections ( since the natural protective coating is washed away)

Bacterial and fungal infections will then proliferate on the dogs skin making him/her smelly. You then think that you have to bathe to get rid of the scent, leading to a worsen condition of hair loss, itching and smelly skin.

Consult with your veterinarian if you notice that your dog is having hair loss, scratching excessively or having a stench.
