Never feed a dog at the table for these 3 reasons.

Most owners do this to please their dog, without knowing that it's a bad idea.

Firstly, in the wild, dogs have a strict hierarchy within their pack, giving food at the table can blur this hierarchy, as the dog may start to think it is on an equal level to humans, leading to behaviour and obedience problems.

Secondly, if your dog is given food from the table, he will be less motivated to obey commands and respect the rules you have taught him. He will see it as a reward, making his training even more difficult.

Finally, the 3rd reason is the most neglected by dog owners, but it's also the most important because it's dangerous for the dog. When the owner's relative or friend gives his dog something to eat at the table, he could be giving harmful food. Certain foods, such as grapes, which are small and might be perfect for giving as treats and are harmless to humans, are highly toxic to dogs.
