【個案分享の腹膜炎】

傳統傳染性腹膜炎發炎蛋白GLOB會偏高，而且ALB/GLOB ratio會低於0.6

而今次我哋呢個個案就係一個非典形嘅分享個案

🐱1 歲嘅LouLou
今年3月因嘔吐🤮、厭食🤢去咗另一間診所求醫驗血，食咗杜蟲藥都冇改善。

轉嚟我哋醫院後
🔍 檢查經過
🔺 超聲波發現淋巴腫脹 +胰臟炎
所以安排留院同埋進行進一步嘅採樣化驗
🔺 化驗結果：只顯示發炎沒有其他問題，留院3日後好轉回家

🚨複診時：LouLou只有其中一個發炎蛋白GLOB稍微偏高但蛋白比例正常、淋巴縮細比預期慢、體重沒有上升

綜合上述所有病徵我哋開始使用腹膜炎藥物✅
→ 體重上升、胃口改善😋、腫脹淋巴亦縮細✨

結論
FIP（腹膜炎）唔能夠單靠驗血數據/化驗確診
✅ 需結合：臨床症狀＋影像檢查＋排除其病因

In traditional cases of infectious peritonitis, inflammatory protein GLOB tends to be elevated, and the ALB/GLOB ratio is usually below 0.6.

Today, we’re sharing an atypical case for learning purposes.

🐱 Meet LouLou (1 year old)
In March, LouLou visited another clinic due to vomiting 🤮 and loss of appetite 🤢. Blood tests were conducted, and deworming medication was prescribed, but there was no improvement.

When LouLou was transferred to our hospital:

🔍 Examination Process
- Ultrasound Results: Swollen lymph nodes and pancreatitis were detected.
- Hospitalization and additional sampling and tests were arranged.
- Lab Results: Indicated inflammation but no other issues. LouLou improved after a 3-day hospital stay and was sent home.

🚨 Follow-Up Observations
At the follow-up:
- GLOB was slightly elevated, but the protein ratio was normal.
- Swollen lymph nodes reduced slower than expected.
- No weight gain was observed.

Treatment Plan
Based on the symptoms and findings, we started FIP treatment ✅:
- LouLou showed significant improvements:
- Weight gain
- Increased appetite 😋
- Swollen lymph nodes reduced ✨

Conclusion
FIP cannot be diagnosed solely through bloodwork or lab results.
✅ Diagnosis requires:
- Clinical symptoms

Normal P**p Condition💩
Cats are originally desert animals and naturally consume less water, so their p**p doesn’t always look perfectly shaped:
✅ From pellet-like pieces to a dry, well-formed stool, both are within the normal range.

⚠️ However, if you notice the following, it’s time to pay attention:
❌ Soft, wet p**p that sticks to the litter.
❌ Mucus or fresh blood in the stool.
❌ Liquid or muddy stool (diarrhea).

Common Causes of Diarrhea
1️⃣ Parasites 🪱 (e.g., roundworms, hookworms).
2️⃣ Dietary Changes 🍗 (e.g., sudden switch of food or new treats).
3️⃣ Food Sensitivities 🌾 (e.g., allergies to specific ingredients).
4️⃣ Inflammation 🔥 (e.g., gastroenteritis, pancreatitis, or chronic intestinal inflammation).
5️⃣ Cancer🩸 (rare but worth noting).

【個案分享之膀胱石】(Scroll down for English version)

上星期同大家分享咗膀胱石嘅小知識後，今次同大家分享吓真實個案！📚

主角係8歲嘅丁滿🐱
症狀：
📌 主人因為發現丁滿出現血尿🩸即刻帶佢過嚟睇醫生

診斷過程：
當日醫生為丁滿進行超聲波同X光檢查🩻
結果發現
🔸 膀胱內有數粒結石
🔸 X光片顯示晶石顏色偏白，懷疑係草酸鈣石屬於無法用食物溶解嘅結石類型

治療方法：
由於草酸鈣石無法用糧食溶解🔬，醫生建議主人盡快為丁滿安排進行「膀胱石手術」（Cystotomy），以取出膀胱內結石，避免情況惡化。
而術後，一般需要置入尿喉24-48小時，令膀胱唔會脹大，傷口癒合亦較好😋

膀胱石風險⚠️
膀胱石如果唔及時處理，除咗會導致膀胱炎症🐱，仲有機會引發尿道閉塞🍆問題，屆時需要緊急手術處理🙀
丁滿嘅情況就係一個提醒，血尿問題千祈唔好忽視呀🫶🏼

Last week, we shared knowledge about bladder stones, and this time we’re bringing you a real-life case! 📚

Meet the Star: Timon🐱 (8 years old)

Symptoms:
📌 Timon's owner noticed blood in her urine 🩸 and immediately brought her to the vet.

Diagnosis Process:
On the same day, the vet performed an ultrasound and X-ray 🩻. The results revealed the following:
🔸 Several stones were found in the bladder.
🔸 The X-ray showed that the stones appeared white, suspected to be calcium oxalate stones, which cannot be dissolved through diet.

Treatment Method:
Since calcium oxalate stones cannot be dissolved 🔬, the vet recommended arranging a bladder stone removal surgery (Cystotomy) as soon as possible to remove the stones and prevent further complications.
Post-surgery, a catheter is typically inserted for 24-48 hours to prevent the bladder from over-expanding, promoting better healing for the surgical wound. 😋

Risks of Bladder Stones⚠️
If bladder stones are not treated in time, they can lead to bladder inflammation🐱, and in severe cases, cause urethral blockage 🍆, which would require emergency surgery 🙀.

貓貓出現血尿好多時都係自發性膀胱炎嘅徵兆😼但膀胱石亦係另一個常見原因！今日就同大家講下膀胱石嘅小知識📚

膀胱石係咩？🤔
🔹係尿液裡面嘅物質累積，形成硬硬嘅結石
貓常見嘅膀胱石主要分為兩種：
1️⃣ 草酸鈣
2️⃣ 鳥糞石

如何診斷？🔍
🔸超聲波
超聲波細至2mm嘅膀胱石都能夠見到，仲免麻醉！
🔸X光檢查
能夠準確檢查出膀胱石數量，但有機會需要鎮靜或麻醉！

治療方法🩹
1️⃣ 手術治療
2️⃣ 食物治療
可通過轉食特定尿道處方糧幫助溶解，切記要定期追蹤結石有冇縮細甚至消失🥰

⚠️ 如果膀胱石無及時處理，一旦膀胱跌入尿道，會導致貓貓尿道閉塞，需要進行緊急手術㗎！

What are bladder stones? 🤔
🔹 Bladder stones are hard mineral deposits that form in a cat’s bladder.
The two most common types of bladder stones in cats are:
1️⃣ Calcium oxalate stones
2️⃣ Struvite stones

How to diagnose bladder stones? 🔍
🔸 Ultrasound
Ultrasound can detect bladder stones as small as 2mm, without the need for anesthesia!

🔸 X-ray
X-rays can accurately identify the number of bladder stones, although sedation or anesthesia may sometimes be required.

Treatment Options 🩹
1️⃣ Surgical Treatment
2️⃣ Dietary Treatment
Switching to a special urinary prescription diet can help dissolve certain types of stones (such as struvite stones). Be sure to schedule regular check-ups to monitor if the stones are shrinking or disappearing 🥰.

⚠️ If bladder stones are not treated promptly and they move into the urethra, they can cause a urinary blockage, requiring emergency surgery to resolve!
