Amendment of Bye-Laws

- Pets at Kellett Island
The General Committee at its meeting on 25 July 2024 has approved the amendment of Bye-Laws relating to an additional dog friendly area at Kellett Island:

4.15 Pets

a. No pets are permitted on the Club’s Kellett Island premises except for:

(i) legitimate access to boats;

(ii) pets at the Bistro lower terrace up to 1100hrs or at such time as determined by the General Committee from time to time (pets may not be allowed on any Club furniture nor may they feed or drink from any Club utensils or crockery);

(iii) pets at the designated area between the starters box and the waterside area accessed only through the boatyard; and

(iv) a “seeing – eye dog” in the company of a person with restricted sight.

b. The pet must be under the control of the owner and be kept on a lead at all times. Pets may not be left tethered away from the owner.

c. The pet’s owner is responsible for any damage caused by their pet(s) and must clean up any mess made by their pet(s).

Our first doggie event at Kellett Island is going well! We've also got Yummy here showcasing our new RHKYC dog leashes! SPCA is also here with some lovely pups and older dogs to adopt! We're here till 1100hrs!

No parent zone! Our teenagers are having fun at the Summer Vibes Pool Party which was moved from Wednesday to today due to the typhoon. And what luck! It's International Youth Day too!

Whether or not you are a member of RHKYC, you are welcome to request an application form to join the 4th Hong Kong Sea Scout Group which is tentatively scheduled to begin meetings and activities at the end of August or early September.

Organiser: Hong Kong Island Region
Venue: Kellett Island, Royal Hong Kong Yacht Club
Days/Time: Saturday mornings from 0900hrs to 1100hrs
Requirements: Teenagers who are 11 years old by 31 August 2022 and not older than 16 who enjoy water sports, are outgoing and willing to face challenges, are welcome regardless of gender and ethnicity and can understand Chinese or English.
