Sai Kung Stray Friends Foundation A shelter in Sai Kung providing more than 𝘢 𝘩𝘰𝘮𝘦 to over 200 dogs whilst they wait for adoption. One of them could be perfect for you.

Sai Kung Stray Friends Foundation (SKSFF) is a Hong Kong Charity, which was founded in 2014 by Narelle Pamuk. A non-profit organisation that is supported by a group of volunteers and relies heavily on donations from the public and the local community. SKSFF rescue stray, abandoned, sick and injured dogs to provide them with medical care and rehabilitation. Every dog that is rescued is health check

ed, de-sexed, vaccinated and given flea, tick and heartworm prevention. We also try to provide any necessary treatment and emergency surgery that may be needed. Our aim is to find these beautiful dogs, a kind and responsible adopter which can give them a loving forever home and help them have a better life. If you haven't experienced the joy of adopting a dog, now is the right time! We currently have approx 200 dogs at our Sai Kung kennel, they are all waiting for their forever homes. Outside of our kennel, our meals-on-wheels program delivers food and clean water to street dogs 365 days a year. We have a small group of volunteers who personally deliver food and water to the street dogs and make sure they have shelter and warmth. We also desex, microchip and rabies vaccinate the dogs, who live happily in harmony with the local villages. Please help us improve the lives of dogs:

UPDATE: KOBE SURRENDER
Young pup Kobe 9 months old went into temporary foster this afternoon on HK Island and reunited with his 3 friends.

Tonight he was very content to snuggle up and have a good nights rest.
It was scary last night with the loud Thunder for him to be in an outside enclosure at the shelter when he has lived since a small puppy in a home.

His foster location is Sheung Wan and meet-ups for Kobe available.

WE NEED YOUR HELP🙏🏼‼️🐕🐕
I started Sai Kung Stray Friends shelter approximately 15 years ago and became a HK registered Charity in 2014.

It is never "Easy Street" trying to keep operating a large shelter, a safe and caring home to over 200 otherwise homeless dogs, providing daily Meals on Wheels to local Sai Kung dogs and weekly management, supplying food, preventative and medical care to Fishfarm dogs in HK China Border.

Its frustrating that there never seems to be light at the end of the tunnel. Years of kindness contribution by myself and my core SKSFF volunteers and other rescue organisations.

Help is still needed every day of every year. Why? Undesexed female dogs produce 2-3 litters a year. Usually 6-8 puppies each litter. I continue to say "They dont choose to be born"

There is a solution....DESEXING
All dogs both female and males should be sterilised.

Stray dogs numbers will continue
to be high unless Free Desexing Clinics are introduced which would be so welcomed as a Government initiative at a designated AFCD Animal Management Centre.

In addition laws requiring keeping of dogs must be sterilised or a fine will be imposed by Government would be a positive step forward.

This is my viewpoint, irresponsible dog keepers need to be penalised for their disrespect to dogs and Hong Kong.

Our Sai Kung Stray Friends mission is to help dogs to have a better life and that is what we do!

Our volunteer efforts of love and dedication has its rewards when a rescued dog has a loving home but we are the suffers of emotional sensitivity,
tiredness and anxiety. Volunteers do this work because they are compassionate and understand how
much homeless dogs need help.

However, we also need help!
The worry of the finances to keep a large size shelter operational and settle monthly Medical Expenses.😖

our account at Concordia Vet Clinic Happy Valley month May, 2025 $295,320.78 and June & July is due anyday. Copy of our statement can be provided.

ITS JUST TOO SAD... TOO SAD🥲
Its been such a Run of Spate the overwhelming succession of dogs with complicated medical issues and hospitialisation.

Longstay shelter residents, Sisi, Pearl and Tammy were all provided medical care but passed away. Pearl had failled kidneys, Sisi & Tammy no determined diagnosis.
Another shelter dog Perfect Ears was found dead in his enclosure early Saturday morning from twisted stomach.

Recently we took in 2 very sweet Mummy dogs. Soon after desexing and vaccinations they both started having ongoing diaroeha. So strange as they were taken to different clinics.

Both dogs had time in and out of hospitalisation. tests taken were unremarkable and negative to the most common conditions and returned to the shelter with medication. Both dogs deteriorated, having twitches and spasms.

It was so sad and even more sad
on Monday to see Kathy our Kennel Manager who is so dedicated and kind to all our dogs breakdown crying conceding she had to make the hardest decision of kindness to let Mummy No. 1 go who had been returned to clinic.
Kathy was there to hold the paw of a very sick Mummy.

Yesterday Mummy No. 2 in our shelter was weak, spasms, no eating and the Vet was called to come to put her to sleep. Her paw was held by a very tearful and sobbing Kathy

The emotional grief, brings feeling of gloom and low spirits. Its been tough..

China Border Chocco is still hospitalised. The minor wounds have healed but his front legs are still needing dressing changes and infection of septus. He stood up for me today and walked a little. He is such a beautiful boy. He is not giving up!

The accumulated medical costs have now reached such highs the future security of our shelter is in serious troubled waters.

ADOPTED - SHIPYARD PUP NO. 5👏🏻

Hello Narelle
It has been a challenging few weeks. Our dog Boone and the puppy would fight whenever they are close to each other.
But a couple days ago it seems the situation improved. They have finally started to find some common ground.

So, conclusion, we decided to keep and formerally adopt her.

We have named her Forcina which is Italian for Wishbone from the natural marking on her head.

We appreciate your patience and are happy to have her in our family.

Ellie was the lucky pup we were able to rescue from a fishfarm site on HK China Border. Sadly her two siblings died. We were unable to rescue them.

Its always a guggle this time of year, with the school summer holidays families go on vacation out of HK.

People who are fostering return dogs and its problematic... we dont have shelter space😖

We just cant create space when we are over fully occupied.

Currently we have 2 very sick mother dogs we are doing our best to care for and 2 kennel rooms are needed for them. We have another dog soon to be released from the clinic who will need a room to recover

Our beautiful Peggy who is in longterm foster will need a foster home from 15th latest 16th July

Young pup Kobe is a former SKSFF who will be surrendered on coming Saturday due to family health issues.

Puppy coming back from foster needs adoption or foster...

Every day I am receiving emails/whattsapp to rescue, take in dogs it is just so stressful.

We do everything we can but there comes s point we cant do more than w care doing.

If you have a day in our world you would be stunned at our workload and limited resources. Our days everyday are exhausting!

Our vehicles have 5-6 fuel
Fill-ups per month. Daily Meals on Wheels Sai Kung location, HK China Border feeding and transporting dogs to clinics Sai Kung & Happy Valley.
