Sai Kung Stray Friends Foundation A shelter in Sai Kung providing more than 𝘢 𝘩𝘰𝘮𝘦 to over 200 dogs whilst they wait for adoption. One of them could be perfect for you.

Sai Kung Stray Friends Foundation (SKSFF) is a Hong Kong Charity, which was founded in 2014 by Narelle Pamuk. A non-profit organisation that is supported by a group of volunteers and relies heavily on donations from the public and the local community. SKSFF rescue stray, abandoned, sick and injured dogs to provide them with medical care and rehabilitation. Every dog that is rescued is health check

ed, de-sexed, vaccinated and given flea, tick and heartworm prevention. We also try to provide any necessary treatment and emergency surgery that may be needed. Our aim is to find these beautiful dogs, a kind and responsible adopter which can give them a loving forever home and help them have a better life. If you haven't experienced the joy of adopting a dog, now is the right time! We currently have approx 200 dogs at our Sai Kung kennel, they are all waiting for their forever homes. Outside of our kennel, our meals-on-wheels program delivers food and clean water to street dogs 365 days a year. We have a small group of volunteers who personally deliver food and water to the street dogs and make sure they have shelter and warmth. We also desex, microchip and rabies vaccinate the dogs, who live happily in harmony with the local villages. Please help us improve the lives of dogs:

ADOPTED - LUKE👏🏻👏🏻
When we started the HK China Border TNR mission (trap, neuter and return) in 2021 Luke was a beautiful young pup we desexed, vaccinated and returned to a fishfarm site.

It was a very short time before he was injured and running with his foot severed and dangling.

We had many failed attempts to rescue him by trapcage. Finally the fishfarm worker threw a large cast net and succeeded. Luke's foot disconnected in the net but sadly surgically could not be reattached.

It took time at the shelter for Luke to be human trusting until our volunteer Leonie built a relationship with him. Every visit she would bring him a can of sardines and their friendship bonded. Leonie was so patient and understanding of Luke needing time to become less tense and anxious.

After many months Leonie introduced Luke to her dogs and took him home.

Adopter Leonie's comments:-
Initially very shy and didn’t move anywhere in the house besides his bed and for walks. He’s grown to be super inquisitive, relaxed, bright eyed and is Incredibly gentle in his nature. He loves my dog Bella, and loves going on walks and adventures. He’s gotten to love cuddling on the couch and on our beds too. He’s a smart boy, and has grown strong and healthy. He’s not aggressive at all, and he doesn’t let his disability hinder him at all. He’s such a special soul and everyone in our family loves him dearly.❤️

GOODBYE PAK JAI - 24th Dec, 2024
This beautiful boy left us one day before Christmas leaving saddened hearts of all our volunteers and those who knew him.

2019 Pak Jai was alone, sick, curled up on the roadside of Chuk Yuen Road so wanting to be helped. I noticed him driving home and gave him some kibble. He stayed same spot for a day. He didn't resist rescue he was so needy.

Poor boy had Autoimmune Disease a disorder with no cure just daily management by balancing medications, continual vet visits, blood tests, procedures and even had spleen removal earlier this year.

He was so grateful, always quiet, no trouble at all and a perfect patient.

We will miss his speckled nose, sweet face and his presence. Room mate Tyson will really miss him too.

Pak Jai had 5.5 years with us for which
we can be thankful.
The shelter was his caring home.

Rescue gave Pak Jai this time to know love and to be loved.. 💔❤️

Bye our beautiful stray friend ...

Third time lucky...for this young boy.
His original owner took ill and was unable to care for him. Reibe went to a new home but he was too energetic and another family took him but when returning to work they couldnt give him the time he needed.
Riebe's new adopters are dog experienced and say:-
He's a VERY energetic boy and is keeping us on our toes!

Living on Discovery Bay Riebe is releasing energy running along the beach and now seems he is the right fit with this couple and for his lifestyle.🤞🏻

I'm not sure he would be so suited for a busy City location as he is a country boy😁but I am sure he would be a loving, loyal, beautiful dog for anyone once he adjusted to a new lifestyle.

POOR OLLIE NEEDS A WARM HOMESTAY THIS CHRISTMAS
Oliver is a largesize boy, which sadly leaves him on the shelf😉

He had a companion Olive and they were great friends but he is now alone since her adoption.

I feel sad for Ollie, not having an inside kennel room. He stays in the swimming pool enclosure and its so cold at night being outside. He has a blanket but its cold temps now.

Ollie is a gentle boy, initially shy on first meet-ups but has a quiet snd peaceful presence, will pull initially on leash but then settles on the walk.

He is a lovely boy and he cant be overlooked because of size.

Many people have largesize dogs and I need just someone to offer him a homestay to be warm and give him some company.

He has been on homestays before and
his hosts say he is a good boy,❤️

Our running volunteer Mark Doel takes him regularly on long runs and on the trails.

LETS GIVE AMY SOME LOVE & SPOILS THIS CHRISTMAS

Her story was posted 9th Sept, 2024. A free roaming senior dog (13years🤷🏿‍♀️) from a village near HK China Border.
Her belly was filled with fluid.

We took her to Concordia.
5.6L was drained from her abdomen. Her weight was 31kgs after drainage 25.3kgs

She is a an absolute darling, no trouble at all, so calm, super friendly, always gentle and happy to go for short walks.

It would be so wonderful if Amy could have a xmas homestay to be warm, feel special and have some spoils which she has missed out on during her life before coming into our shelter.

Amy is well, her health issues are not affecting her at this time, no medication needed. good appetite and always smiling.
The vet diagnosis:-
Her lungs have many consolidations - look like tumours.

I could not see any definitive mass in the abdomen.

I cannot be sure of the cause. It can be some cancer that not picked up from ultrasound. Or the lung lesions can cause backflow in the heart and the circulation.

The lung lesions are widespread.
Looking at lung pattern, I am most concerned about lung masses/tumours/ cancers.

I doubt anything we do at this stage can make huge difference
The best for her is to keep her as happy for as long as possible."

Its very cold now and exceptionally cold for dogs in the outer open enclosures.

Thanks to a regular donor for her continued kindness ...another surprise big bale of soft blankets arrived at our gate a day ago. Without the warmth of blankets the dogs would be freezing like iced snowmans😉

Every dog benefits from homestay,
It is training for them and great for their social development having human contact outside the shelter
