Adoption fee is 25 000 HUF or 70 Euros (you can give more). They usually encourage adopters to visit 2-3 times to avoid buyers remorse. But due to overcrowding, they are allowing same-day adoption for most dogs.
They are open 9 am to 1 pm on Saturdays and Sundays. The public is welcome to walk the dogs on Sundays so it's a bit busier.
You can also visit 9-12 Wed-Fri if you make an appointment via facebook messenger (or by calling +3670 601 6700 in Spanish or Hungarian).

It's encouraged to visit 2-3 times to ensure you make the right choice, but you CAN take most dogs home after a trial walk!

How to get there:
(A) drive 15-20 minutes from Budapest,
(B) Taxi 10 minutes from Kelenföld metro station (M4/green line – exit at P+R/örmezö exit NOT Etele tér side) or
(C) Public transport (40 minutes from Deák): metro to Kelenföld, switch to 172/173 bus & walk 10 minutes.
It is best to type the shelter’s name into Google Maps / Waze, as there is no exact street address… but it’s not hard to spot.

Dog Walking 9-12 every Sunday at Budaörsi Animal Shelter (20 mins from Budapest).

The staff want to ensure you have a safe & fun experience so please obey all rules. Registration via their fb messenger is encouraged to help staff anticipate crowd size. Wait to be shown which dogs can be walked. This depends on which other dogs are outside, the dogs temperament and its' health status. Some dogs might run off if not held properly. Some are skittish or aggressive with strangers or other dogs.

Youg children should visit on a less busy day. Mature kids are welcome, but a parents must hold the leash to ensure the dog does not break loose.

The adoption fee for a neutered, tested, chipped dog is 25000Ft or 70 Euros (you can give more). Dogs should be visited 2-3 times before adoption to reduce the likelihood of buyers remorse.
