Established in 1996, the Foreign Students’ Association was a student organisation at the Szent István University Faculty of Veterinary Science, Budapest, representing all the International students of the campus. As a result of our school’s recent separation from Szent István University we have been given the freedom to make certain changes in our operation. First, and most obvious, is our change

of name to ISC (International Students’ Committee) and, for the first time, a seat on the HÖK Council, giving International Students more power than ever to facilitate positive change. According to Hungarian Law, only one student association is allowed per University, this being the Hallgatói Önkormányzat - HÖK. Every student enrolled at any university is automatically a member of the HÖK. However, our faculty is in a unique place having more international students than Hungarian students. Therefore, as per the current bylaws, every international member also falls under the ISC chapter of the HÖK. Working out of the ISC office on campus, the team consists of students of the university who take time out of their academic lives to attend all regular meetings, supervise the organisation of all activities and to answer to students’ concerns, as well as to the administration of the school. Our website is an online portal where you can find out about the current team, future activities and also view our past events (Currently under construction).

Hi everyone! We have previously received complaints from you all about the lack of study spaces and potentially bringing back the study room and/or providing more seats and tables in the student center. We have reached out to the university about this but unfortunately got the response that neither will be possible.

For the student center, due to fire safety regulations, it is not possible to increase the number of seats and tables. As for the old study room, skills lab is still on and using the room, and as you all know some clinical day classes are held in there. We are sorry that we could not do more for these issues.

As the first round of complaints were sent in and dealt with, we will soon move on to forwarding the other complaints sent to us. Thank you all for your patience!

Hi everyone! We at the ISC would like to host a brief meeting this Friday at 14:00 to welcome anyone who is interested in joining us. We also intend to set out the plans for the next academic year and hopefully come up with some new ideas. So if you want to plan events, get involved in sales, and help create a better atmosphere at the university, please join us in the student center if you're interested!
