Exciting times ahead....once again my husband has excelled and has written his first book. This is an adventure novel for young children and adults alike. I can't give too much away but watch this space over the next week or so as "Rabbit No-pants" makes its official debut. We look forward to you all joining us in Pantaloon woods very soon....

"Feels strange to write a rating for Julia and Gareth, like would you ever rate a stay with your brother and sister on Yelp? From the moment Gareth tracked me down as I wandered along the streets in the nearest village harassing people for WiFi, J&G made me feel welcome and included, appreciated my contributions no matter how small, even trusted me to paint a mural on the wall of their new bedroom. I was reluctant to leave these two, these animals, this strange and magical little patch of land where two admirable and accommodating individuals have done the impossible and built a sustainable life for themselves and their baby, where days are full of goats and paint and cherry wine and chasing dastardly young chickens, push-starting the car, getting whooped at poker by the neighbor kids and caring for furry feathered things of all shapes and sizes. I’ll be back, but they’ve got a piece of me still there with them.

Missed last weeks update so here is a quick update! Sorry for being so quiet recently, we have been busy preparing for baby's arrival, plus our first ever volunteer Fritzi came back to visit us for a few days, joined by her boyfriend, her brother, sister in law and lovely little baby. So lovely!!!

What they don’t mention about pregnancy

Please do not get me wrong, I am beyond ecstatic that Gareth and I are lucky enough to soon become parents. I know it will be tough, especially trying to live up to the expectations that I now have. I had a great childhood, wonderful caring parents, and I certainly came first in their lives. I can't wait to meet this little one and start guiding and helping my child through their life. New year, new products

So 2017 has been and gone, far too quickly! It really amazes me how quickly life can get in the way of everything else.... A favorite dessert back in South Africa is the humble 'Melk Tert'...a lovely creamy custart and pastry pudding, usually topped with cinnamon. A real taste of home for me. With our lives developing as they are, we have recently found ourselves slightly inundated with fresh goats milk.
