Meow meow! All is well at our Meowquarters, we've just been insanely busy and haven't had much time for posting.

Some info here:
- we've closed our cafe for now. It was impossible to keep going without staff. We know people love cat cafes and having one would be a gold mine, but serving coffee and other drinks to tourists is not on top of our priority list. Cats are. We are an animal welfare project and a charity, not a moneymoney-bizniz. But never say never... Who knows, we may re-open the cafe again at some point.
- we've updated our outside decorations, pop in to have a look and take photos. Don't forget to tag us!
- our exhausted GrumpyOldCatlady will go for a much MUCH needed holiday in July, but don't worry, our shop will stay open
- Flea Market is also open, there's loads of new pre-loved clothes, come have a look!

Oh meow goodness, I was supposed to make this post weeks ago but simply forgot. But here it is:

THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU! We received this generous donation of much needed medicines last month. Antibiotics, ear cleaners, wound cleaners, milk formula, feeding bottles, etc etc etc. Opening the box was like Christmas, but better!

Warm loud purrs to vet Heidi for the donation. Also big thank yous to our friend Mr. Tomi in Bali who went to pick up the donation box from the airport, and later delivered it to our friend Mr. Robert, who then brought it over from Bali to us. Thank you! ❤️

Meow! Look at Mike White!

Yes, he still looks rough but nothing compared to how he was when he arrived. His skin was badly infected, his neck was just raw rashy itchy horror, and he had bleeding sores in several spots in his body.

Been rough times trying to get him healing, but now things are looking good and every day his skin looks better.

He's full of energy, to the point of being a major pain in the arse, but cannot help but love him. Such a funny little fluffy boy he is, Mike White. ❤️

Been both sad and happy morning.

One of the tiny newborn kittens stopped eating last night, and went over to the Greener Fields early this morning. 😢

So sad, and no matter how much you try to prepare yourself, knowing how hard it is for newborn babies without mommycats to survive, it still breaks your heart. Every damn time.

After having a little funeral, I went for my morning run around the island. I was almost done and started to head home, when the sad morning turned into a happy one. I spotted a familiar face near the island lighthouse. Holy meow, it's my Pate!

Pate has not been seen at his football field homehoods for about 2 weeks. I didn't worry too much, he sometimes went for walks, but now he was gone so long I thought he propably took a walk too far and forgot where home is. And that seems to be what happened, he was pretty damn far from home, for a cat.

Was so happy to see him. He came running when I called his name, I picked him up and carried him back home. Hope he's done wandering for a while now.

Mommycat and her 3 kids arrived last week, and they've settled in really well. Our shop is back to kitten chaos now that they are running free 😁

They all are doing great, except they've been vomiting and pooping out worms A LOT. That sometimes happens after you give a dewormer. Hope the worst is over now. GrumpyOldCatlady is not the biggest fan of cleaning up wormy poops. 🤢

Tiny newborn kittens were found yesterday afternoon. Little babies, umbilical cords still attached and all. Clearly dumped by someone.

They're doing as good as they can right now. Bottle fed mostly, but the recently arrived mommycat is also helping, taking care of them and the kittens even feed from her. ❤️

Mommy has 3 of her own kittens, already much bigger, so the tiny ones have no chance to fight for the ni***es, so extra feeding with bottle is still needed. They'll go home with our GrumpyOldCatlady for the night and tomorrow they'll come back to our shop to spend time with the mommycat.

And they definitely will need a miracle or few to survive, such tiny ones are so vulnerable.

Fingers toes paws and tails crossed for them!

More cats arrived in the afternoon. 😯
Someone brought us a mommycat and her 3 babies, because couldn't look after them any longer. That's ok, and we always help. I rather see the cats brought to us, than left somewhere to survive on their own.

(And seriously, who can say no to kittens? 😅 )

Mommycat was super hungry, but otherwise all seem ok. Tomorrow we'll do better check up, sort out possible fleas and do deworming. Now they can just relax. They're settled in a big play pen, and once they've rested and relaxed a few days, we'll let them roam free inside our shop. Visitors can probably meet them next week.

Meow from our !

We currently have 3 kittens/teenager-kitties who have FIP. F***y and Isla are girls who both have the most common "normal" version, the wet FIP. Pedro is a boy and has the neurological version.

Everyone is doing great, eating good, no symptoms. Even Pedro, who couldn't even walk when FIP hit him, is back to normal. ❤️ Girls are on oral meds already, Pedro is still getting daily injections.

They all would have died already without treatment. Such a relief to have treatment available, although it certainly is not cheap. We've already spent about 10million rp (about 550euros/600USD/950AUD)on their medicines, and this is big money for us. And we still have several weeks to go. But it's just money, important thing is to save these lives.

We're hopeful F***y, Isla and Pedro will make full recovery. Looking very promising at the moment.

Oh meow it's Monday, and it started with finding this poor kitty in front of our shop. Someone must've dropped him here. The cat has infected skin, he has scratched it raw, and honestly, he looks like s**t... So good that he's here now and we can help him.

He just got a quick shave and a warm bath with flea + fungal shampoos to start with, and we go from there.

Fluffy cats are cute but it's so hot and humid here, it's no fun having a thick long fur. Skin issues are very common.

I have a feeling I have seen this cat somewhere not too long ago, but I cannot remember where. I have a clear vision of him being in the middle of the road, but just cannot place where. Doesn't matter, really, the kitty is here now and hopefully will get better soon.

Meow from Milky! He's still staying with us. He was all ready to go home last week but then the worst happened and his ass exploded again 🙄 Meaning the damn a**l prolapse made a comeback.

For a couple of days Milky couldn't keep his butt together, he wasn't feeling well otherwise either, but after some rough days we're now in recovery again! Milky is back to his happy self, he's eating good, and most importantly: his butt is nice and neat, nothing flopping outside, no need for pushing his a**s back inside several times a day.

Oh meow are we relieved! We both hope we never hear the snap of a rubber glove again.

Hopefully Milky will continue to do well. If so, we can start thinking about him going home to his family next week. But let's wait and see how the rest of this week goes.
