While at the tiny kitten nursery it's been heartbreak and misery, the bigger kittens at our charity shop are doing well.

In the picture is tiny Miz Houdini. She and her brother and sister were brought to us from Lombok in September, after their mommy was run over by motorcycle and died. Houdini and her siblings were just about 3 weeks old then.

They are all doing great, but little Miz Houdini is not growing. While her brother and sister are already nearly 2kg in weight, Miz H is barely 1kg. She simply stopped growing. Other than that, she's perfectly fine. Eats good, plays as actively as everyone else, bosses the other kittens around. Whatever she may miss in her physical size, she makes up with her ego. She's such a funny little kitty, with big personality.

Over the years I've had several cats like Miz H. These sweet tiny dwarf cats may not have the longest of lives, but they all lived a good, happy life, until one day their body simply gave up. I hope little spicy Miz Houdini will have several good years coming. ❤️

Sorry for not posting much lately, and apologies if there are messages waiting for replies. We've had some rough times and our social media has been the last thing on my mind. And I hate to have to write this post now (yep, real human here, not AI or hired content creator). But here we go...

Last week our tiny kittens in our nursery started to die, one after another. They were fine one moment, and few hours later taking their last breaths. Absolutely heartbreaking. You never get used to this.

Only 2 kittens left, and it's been a few days since anyone died, so I am hopeful the worst is over, and these two will make it. They were the biggest and strongest since the beginning, so maybe they are all right, nothing wrong, they will get to grow and live a happy life. They have two mommycats looking after them, sometimes they all sleep happily together in one basket, so the kittens get all the love and care they could hope for. They must survive! ❤️

But it still is so loudly QUIET now. Just last week it was a total kitten mayhem, tiny kittens everywhere, p**p everywhere, kitten meows greeting me as soon as I entered the room. Miss them all. 😢

Mama Sepeda caused us some extra worry and headaches. 2 nights ago she managed to break out from the nursery room, by tearing off the mosquito net from the window ventilation hole and somehow squeezing herself through the wooden bars covering the opening.

Couldn't find her anywhere, and was so worried for her. Her kittens were confused too, but were already eating solids and had Mama HP there too for comfort.

But today morning I woke up to familiar meows coming from outside. I got up to check and as soon as I opened the door she shot in faster than lightning and ran directly to the nursery room door.

Look at her now! All kittens are all over her, Mama HP's kids included, and she's so happy to be back. ❤️

I will try make a proper fix to the ventilation hole, with new mosquito net plus some metal netting too. Hopefully that'll hold.

Cats, gotta love 'em.

Found this miserable looking kitten on my way to cat shop just now. He was very friendly and just purring when I picked him up. Nobody nearby knew the kitten when I went around tp ask, so off we went! He traveled on my shoulder like a pro!

After we got to our shop I took a closer look and found an infected wound in his paw, leaking nasty green pus. He also has eye infection, fleas, most likely worms, and he was very hungry and dehydrated.

But he's now safe, and comfortable (settling to nap in his toilet box is his choice 😂). He ate a lot, he's received deworming, antibiotics and his paw wound has been cleaned. He'll get a bath later, after he's rested a bit.

Hopefully he'll be ok. ❤️

Hooray! Cat shop gonna be open normally again, starting today!

Our GrumpyOldCatlady is finally back on her paws. She certainly could have used another few days, or weeks, to rest but unfortunately our shop makes no money if it's closed and we have kittens to feed, so enough is enough and time to get back to normal. 😁

And update from our GrumpyOldCatlady:
I'm still alive! I still have fever but it's finally coming down nicely. And thank goodness this is not dengue fever, just some nasty virus that seriously kicked my ass and forced me to rest.
Surely I'll be fine soon, and we can open our charity shop next week again.. Cannot say if it'll be Monday or later in the week, but we'll see. Need at least one full day without any fever first.

Here's some cute kittens to cheer up your day! Mama Sepeda just received another kitten, and she adopted this new baby right away too. No hesitation, she was instantly like NEW KITTEN, GIMME THAT! 😊So she now has 3 babies to look after. Best mama!

And other things: cat shop is still closed.
Our GrumpyOldCatlady is still super sick with high fever. She just had some blood tests done, just to check if it's dengue fever. Hopefully not! But whatever it is, it certainly has kicked some serious cat lady butt.

Our Mama Sepeda just adopted a new baby! A little ginger kitten, about the same size Mama Sepeda's own baby is. Luckily Mama S was super welcoming, it took just seconds for her to start cleaning the new kitten, and in just minutes the kitten was eating. All looking good thank goodness!

And now that the new kitten is all settled and comfortable, it's time to go to sleep for our GrumpyOldCatlady. Fever is pretty damn high so falling asleep won't be a problem! Bye!

Meow!
Our GrumpyOldCatlady is in bed with fever, so unfortunately our shop will be closed today (Tuesday jan 21). She needs a bit rest, and since we have no staff working here, no other option than to close. Sorry.

Don't worry about us kitties, she still crawls in to clean our p**ps and fill our food bowls, so we are well taken care of. You'll probably see us sleeping on our shop window if you go past.

Thank you for understanding and we hope to be open again in few days.

Did we say something about new cats or kittens yesterday?

Well, whatever, forget what we said! Here's a welcoming meow to a new kitten! She's a little girl who just happened to sit in the middle of the road meowing, when our GrumpyOldCatlady was on her morning run. The kitten was very friendly, and the boys next door were saying "just take it". Ok then!

The kitten seemed fine at first look, but now it looks like there was a reason why her path crossed with us. She's not eating, so something is not right. Otherwise she's all good, no injuries or anything, but let's see. We will do all basic treatments (giving the boot to worms, fleas etc) and hopefully she'll start eating soon.

This week has been rough, tough, busy, chaotic, sad and everything else. But in the middle of all that, good things were happening too. All the tiny little newborn kittens and their mamacats are doing good, and so is eveyone else. Couple of bigger kittens we have in our shop are still a bit under the weather, and are picky eaters, but we hope they will get better soon.

In the picture: Our long time resident Mr.DAH getting some special therapy from a chiropractor! ❤️

Mr.Dah has had an open wound under his tail for years (and it's still open a bit!), and who knows what kind of issues the long term infection has caused. The chiropractor said his spine def has limited mobility, and we had no idea such an issue even existed. But after the first therapy session Mr. Dah was behaving like he suddenly became a kitten again, playing with toys, throwing them in the air and catching them, running around in proper zoomies... He was like a young wild boy again! His 2nd therapy was today, and we are also giving him extra massages daily now. He loves it, purring loudly.

His stubborn wound has been driving us nuts, and we have tried EVERYTHING imaginable to get it to heal. It has closed several times, but keeps popping open again. Right now it's looking very promising, best it has been for a long time. Hopefully it will keep on healing and this time will close for good!

That's it for now. Our GrumpyOldCatLady gonna rest now and hopes no new cats or kittens or any other creatures will arrive anytime soon. We need a break.

Little Mawun, the ginger kitten from Lombok, just left us and went over to the Greener Fields. 😢

So sorry we couldn't save her, but she was just too weak. During her last week she was safe and warm and loved, right until the end. Her rescuer Cindy was with her all day, and Mawun died on her arms. We buried Mawun behind our shop, next to kitten Bintang Kecil.

Well hello little ones! There's some open eyes today!

Mama Hopee's (aka Black&white Mama, aka Mama HitamPutih, aka Mama HP, aka Mama HooPee) babies have started to open their eyes. This usually happens when kittens are 7-10 days old, but can happen earlier. I think Mama Hopee's babies are now probably 6-7 days old.

Although kittens are a lot of work, just holding one of these tiny little cutebutts on your hand... All your troubles and worries and exhaustion disappear for a moment. ❤️ It's all worth it. These kittens and their mama are safe, warm and DRY.

It's raining a lot here and I just wish I could have all mommycats with tiny babies somewhere safe and dry and warm. 😢

Meow! Holy meow what a ride the past couple of days have been. A little update here:

Picture 1: The little skinny kitten that arrived yesterday is still alive! I was so scared she's not gonna survive the night, but she did. She's (I think she's a girl, a bit difficult to see, she's so skinny everything is just shrunken) still very weak, but she has eaten pretty well. Our friend Charlotte cooked some chicken for her and omg she just savaged it all!! And we got more cooked chicken from the ladies at Jali Kitchen so hopefully the kitten will continue eating and will get stronger.

Picture 2: At GrumpyOldCatlady's house, at the maternity room there, we had another little drama brewing. The 3-coloured Mama Sepeda continued being restless yesterday, and there was def something extra inside her belly. Couldn't feel anything moving, or extra heartbeat. She also had not gone to toilet, although she was eating good. I suspected there might be a dead kitten stuck inside her, causing the discomfort. And yes, that was the case. A few hours later she gave birth to a dead baby. As sad as this was, Mama Sepeda seems to be feeling better now. She had gone to toilet too, her vay-jay-jay is not bleeding, she's a very good mommy to her one living baby. Hopefully all drama is behind us now.

Just arrived. Very very skinny poor kitten found in Lombok. Weights less than 250gram, has a bit diarrhea, most likely worms, a bit infected eyes, who knows what else.

But, the good news is there is a will to live, and there is appetite! Those help a lot!

We will try our best but won't hurt if you guys send some good vibes this way.

Figers toes paws tails all crossed this little kitten survives!

Meow for Monday! Sorry for not posting much lately, too busy and exhausted with everything. Hopefully things are now calming down, everyone stays healthy and alive. Little kitty having breakfast at 4:30am. ♥️ Feeling super grateful, he didn't wake up during the night at all! I expected him to demand food at some point but nope, he slept all through the night. (More importantly: so did I. I turn into a demon if I don't get enough sleep) His little cage is right next to my bed so I hear if he's up and hungry, but he was sleeping so happily didn't hear a beep until I got up and checked on him.
