Highlighting the tragic story of the orangutan Hope, this book serves as a call to action to understand the importance of maintaining ecological balance. A discussion tour across 16 cities in Indonesia aims to inspire more people to care for forests and wildlife. 🌍🐾

From October 7th to 21st, 2024, esteemed representatives of Taman Safari Indonesia Drs. Jansen Manansang, M.Sc., Willem Manansang, Drh(Vet).Bongot Huaso Mulia, M.Si., and Drh(Vet). Ardyta Widianti embarked on a strategic study tour across Frankfurt, Leipzig, and Berlin. This comprehensive initiative encompassed a comparatove study on Gorilla husbandry and Enclosure design, in-depth consultations with the Gorilla EEP, and insights from leading caretakers and institutions in Leipzig, Frankfurt, and Berlin. Additionally, the team attended the EAZA conference, where they presented Taman Safari Indonesia’s dedicated work on the Komodo Dragon Ex-Situ conservation program. Drh(Vet) Bongot and Drh(Vet) Dita also participated in a wildlife CT scan study in collaboration with the Leibniz Institute for Zoo and Wildlife Research, contributing critical knowledge to the upcoming Conservation Animal Hospital in Bogor.

Taman Safari Indonesia bersama dengan Prigen Conservation Breeding Ark (PCBA) mengadakan lokakarya Penyusunan Protokol Reintroduksi Murai Maratua pada 6 & 7 Mei 2024 di Baobab Safari Resort, The Grand Taman Safari Prigen. Banyak pihak yang terlibat dalam kegiatan ini seperti Konservasi Keanekaragaman Hayati dan Sumber Daya Genetik (KKHSDG), Balai Besar KSDA Jawa Timur, Badan Riset dan Inovasi Nasional (BRIN), Burung Indonesia, Aparatur Kecamatan Pulau Maratua, Universitas IPB, Universitas Brawijaya, dan komunitas pemerhati dan pelestari burung.Kemudian juga, lokakarya ini menjadi pemersatu berbagai pihak untuk berdiskusi mengenai protokol reintroduksi murai maratua dan dapat meningkat populasi di habitat alaminya kedepannya.Sejauh ini Taman Safari Indonesia bersama dengan Prigen Conservation Breeding Ark dan Taman Safari Prigen sudah berhasil mengembangbiakan lebih dari 60 ekor Murai Maratua sejak 2018.Dokumen dari diskusi ini diserahkan kepada KKHSG yang kemudian akan dilanjutkan ke Dirjen Konservasi Sumber Daya Alam Ekosistem (KSDAE).
