The studio is open all week from 9am to 3pm everyday including Saturday (I won’t be there Saturday it’s lesson day) and Sunday it’s where you will find me when the horses don’t need me 😊 . We have loads of beautiful art works and cards available to buy and tomorrow morning at 11am and Wednesday morning at 10am we are hosting some sketching and Thursday all day we are doing different types of printing.
So if you are around Gorey over the week call up, say hello, maybe try your hand at sketching and get a head start on some Christmas shopping 😊

🎃 Halloween pony camp 👻
Camp will take place Tuesday and Wednesday 1st and 2nd of November, 9.30 to 12.30 pm both days. The Tuesday will be fancy dress even though Halloween is done 😊.
Camp is €60 per child and everyone needs lunch, drink, rain gear and wellies.
Places are limited .

My group exhibition is opening this evening at 6pm and on for the weekend. I will be there this evening, tomorrow from 3.30 when lessons are over and from 10am to 6pm Sunday. If you are around Gorey call in we would love to see you 😊

My first group exhibition is coming up this weekend and here is an invite for you all 😊 My other job after horses. Opening reception is Friday evening from 6pm and then it’s open from 10am to 6ish Saturday and Sunday. I will be there Friday evening, Saturday from 3.30ish and all day Sunday so if you are around Gorey call in for a look at all our art.

Because it’s going to be warm today we won’t be riding we will be learning about how to care for our horses in heat and a few other bits. Getting resources ready now for everyone coming to lessons today 😊

For everyone coming to camp next week and in August here are a few things kids will need. They need old clothes, wellies, lunch and drinks, sun cream and rain gear if weather isn’t nice. Full payment for camp is on the first morning as kids are dropped.

We currently have space and are looking for helpers on a Saturday. Helpers must be 12yrs and over, have a keen interest in horses and not afraid of work. We don't pay our helpers but we do try as best we can to fit in a free lesson for helpers when time allows. Being a helper is a great way to gain experience working with horses that can not be gained by just getting lessons, it builds confidence in dealing with a wide variety of people in a fun and friendly environment.
If you are interested or know someone who would be then please message me, the hours would be 8am to 3.45pm every Saturday.

This Saturday is our first Dressage test for our riders , they have been doing loads of practice and there is great excited ! . Everyone will get their test marked and a certificate of completion when they are done and maybe there will be sweets as well 🤣

****** Christmas Vouchers ******

We are not doing vouchers this year for a couple of reasons. The first is due to Covid we are keeping a our lessons in closed pods each week of 3/4 kids only and the second is we currently have a huge waiting list for lessons so I couldn’t even tell someone when I could fit them in.

Morning so a lot of people ask what we do on a wet day so here is an example. Today we are going to learn all about horse coat colours, common horse markings and then we will make our own horse. We will also look at some horse passports and chat about why it’s important to know colours and markings for the vet for example 😊 .

******** New Lesson Payments ********

From Saturday the 9th of October 2021 all lessons will be prepaid blocks of four Saturdays . Paid in full at the start of each four week block. Lessons are non refundable if you don’t turn up or cancel but money will transfer to following week if the centre cancels a lesson for any reason.
Anyone starting new will get to have their first lesson as a single lesson €17 per child , but if they wish to come the next week it will then be a prepaid block of four.
Lessons can some wet days be moved from the afternoon to mornings but up to five times will be given to choose from.

Hi everyone,
We are hoping to open again for lessons on Saturday the 8th of May. I rang Horse Sport Ireland today for clarification on whether we can take beginners and lead rein or just those who are able to ride independently. So once I hear back from them with that I will know more about opening.

Here we are again ! . Under regulations for Equestrian activities we will not be able to open when we are in Level 5. It’s such a shame but we need to keep everyone safe and hope that by staying at home and doing what we can we will be open again on Saturday the 5th of December fingers crossed. Hi everyone,
As there is talk of another lockdown I want to let everyone know that if we are put at level 5 we will not be able to open. This will be hard because we are not long back open ! . We have put in place provisions for all our riders to keep them as safe as we possibly can at this time. We have a one way system in the yard, hand sanitiser on entry and exit, all tack and hats are sanitised between riders , 15mins between lessons so as no two lesson groups meet, small lesson pods of just 3/4 riders which do not change weekly and all staff wear gloves, masks and face shields at all times while near our riders.
So we are keeping everything crossed that we will be able to stay open ! 😊

Hi everyone, I hope you are all keeping well ?
I wanted to update you on the latest Covid guidlines for Riding Centres. It has taken me over two hours this afternoon to get this information, one official Equestrian body told me they didn't know anything and the other wanted 450.00 for a one page document of official guidlines.
But through the power of social media I have the guidelines. As our centre takes 90% beginners / lead rein or kids with additional needs we can still not open for lessons at the moment and I feel that will be the case until there is no more social distancing. It is a huge shame as other close contact sports are able to go ahead.
I will keep you all informed the minute I know more.

🎨🎨 Summer Art Camps 🎨🎨

We are considering running 4 Art camps over July and August. These camps can be run outdoors here as we have the space, there would be limited numbers, each child would have their own art pack with all their own supplies, strict disinfection routines in place and three/ four people to oversee this.
The dates we were thinking of are:
Mon and tues 13th and 14th of July
Mon and tues 20th and 22nd of July.
Tues and wed 4th and 5th of August
Mon and tues 10th and 11th of August.
Cost per child is €50 , 10am to 1pm, small snack and drink required and very old clothes.

Hi everyone I just wanted to update you on where we are with opening again. As some of you may have seen some other riding centres have reopened in the last week, they are able to reopen because they have older/more advanced riders than those we cater for.
Nearly all of our riders are beginners/ lead rein or have additional needs and as such this puts us in a position where we can not reopen yet.
For us to safely reopen we need to be able to lead our riders, help them up and down off our horses and with some even hold them on the horses. At the moment the only people we could cater for are those with all their own gear e.g hats, boots and gloves, anyone who can ride completely on their own or those that have their own horse.
So until the 2 meter social distancing rule is removed we will not be able to reopen safely for all our amazing riders as we need to be a lot closer than that to most of our riders when they are here.
We miss you all terribly even the ponies are bored now on there holidays !.

For anyone who is missing the ponies once you are within your 5km limit you guys are very welcome to come out to the ponies to say hi as there is a large grass area on the road where you can see them all and get out and give them a rub over the fence.

It is with a very heavy heart that I have to let you all know the riding centre is closed from today for lessons and camps indefinitely. Yard is still open for liveries. We need to close for the health of ourselves and all the wonderful people who come for lessons. We are open now 17yrs and never once has closing ever been an option but this virus has done it.
We will let everyone know when or if we are able to reopen and we will miss you all terribly !!.

Art Camp
Thursday and Friday 20th and 21st Feb 11am to 2.30pm both days. This art camp is for all kids who would like to enter a painting/ drawing into the 66th Texaco Childrens Art Competition. The closing date for entries is the 28th of Feb.
We will spend the first day of camp working on our ideas, trying out the materials we would like to use and the second day we will start on the actual art work. All materials are supplied and everyone will go home with what they need to finish their piece.
Price for camp is 50.00 per child with sibling discount for two or more per family.
