10 years ago today Fintan opened the practice here as Ballina Veterinary Clinic. How time flies by. We have gone from strength to strength and continue to strive to always provide the best care possible for all the animals in our care β€οΈ from the Vets (Malcom, Isabel and Sercan), the nurses (Elaine, Grainne, Claire and Edwina) and our front of house staff (Martina, Ciara and Olivia) they all go above and beyond.

Meet Bertie β€οΈ he is a West Highland White Terrier.
He was in for his vaccine this evening and of course a photo shoot in reception happened. Bertie was having far too much fun exploring so these are the best photos πΈ
Get your pets indoors now and keep them safe. For dogs, keep them on lead when going to the toilet if area outside isn't secure.
Please don't leave them out in that weather.
If anyone still has pets outdoors then bring them in NOW.
We shouldn't need to post this but you would be surprised how many people think its ok for a dog to be outdoors in all kinds of weather π‘π

For the month of December we will be running our Cat Neutering offer. Females will be β¬55 and Males will be β¬35. Give our office a call on 09622063 to avail of this offer ππ±
We hope everyone has a lovely Halloween π
Although it's a fun time for us, it can be very scary for our pets.
1. Keep doors and windows locked to prevent them escaping if they are frightened. So many pets every single year go missing on Halloween.
2. Keep blinds and curtains drawn to help black out any bright lights from fireworks.
3. Keep a radio or the television on to help drown out noise.
4. Give them somewhere to hide/feel safe in if they need it. This could be under a bed, wardrobe, a crate even the kitchen table. Where ever they feel safe and happy.
5. Keep all sweets and chocolates out of reach. Chocolate is poisonous to dogs and so is xylitol which is a sweetener contained in a lot of surgery sweets.
6. Some pets tolerate Halloween costumes, some won't, don't force them.
7. Make sure they have collars on with up to date contact information just to be safe.

Halloween can be a really scary time for all of our pets. Keep the chocolates and sweets out of reach. Please make sure that your pet is kept indoors, it's not fair to leave them out with all the noises. So many end up running scared and end up lost. Close windows, and curtains and have the t.v on to help drown out the noise.

Update! OWNER ON THE WAY π©·π©·π©· These 2 lovely dogs were found yesterday in Enniscrone. They are microchipped but we haven't been able to make contact with the owner. Both are very well cared for and clearly loved. Please contact us if you recognise them and as always proof of ownership is a must. Please share this to help get them home π©·
The other week we had the lovely Geena brought into us as she has been found and seemed quite lost. Turns out she was missing for 2 months! And the best part of all is that Geena was microchipped! Which ment we called her owner and she was on her way home within the hour. It's so important to microchip your pets as any lost animal that comes to us is always scanned. We are very happy Geena has gone home to her family. π©·
Meet the absolutely beautiful Ruby. She came is to us today to donate blood for a dog who needed a blood transfusion done. She was so brave and we are so grateful to her and her mammy π©·
