Baltinglass Livestock Mart Baltinglass Mart has been and continues to serve the local farming community with weekly sales of Ca Calf collection re-commencing late September.

First established in 1968, Baltinglass Mart has been serving the local farming community with weekly sales of Cattle and Sheep. In 1974 brothers Michael and Joseph Kinsella from Carnew commenced operating the mart. Since 2009 Joseph and Maria Kinsella have been continuing the weekly livestock sales. CATTLE SALES

The 2nd last Sunday of each month at 12 noon. We have introduced our evening horse sales the first Thursday of the month at 7pm. Entries for which can be made by contacting our offices. Cattle Sale - Wednesday 31st July

Very good trade for cows, especially well fleshed animals.
Forward store cattle are selling well. Lighter cattle were slightly easier.

Good Sale of sheep today. Suffolk X Ewe Lambs were a very strong trade with a top price of €166 for 58kg. Store lambs were a litter easier than last week.
Very strong trade for heavy cast Ewes - making from €70 up to €185

Top price of €198 for 50kg hoggets. Ewes with lambs at foot made from €150 up to a top price of €245 with plenty of online bidding.

Sheep Sale Saturday 6th April 2024

Prices for the past couple of weeks are encouraging for farmers that wintered hoggets and ewes because of the bad weather. Thankfully their work is being rewarded by the good prices available.
High prices are continuing for all stock, factory, butchers and stores.
Ewes with lambs at foot are in good demand and made from €150 up to €295 for Ewes with 2 lambs .
