O My Balladeer holds the most Cross Country Jumping Clears of any horse currently competing, with an amazing 85 clears at a 74% clear rate. The now-18 year old gelding began his Eventing career in 2012 with Allan McSweeney, before Alison Holden took over the reins in 2013, progressing up the levels to EI120/CCI4*.
Alison describes Walter, as he's known at home, as "my horse of a lifetime. He has the most amazing temperament being extremely kind and gentle in and out of the stable and he loves carrots and cuddles! His only quirk that once you turn him out he wants absolutely nothing to do with you until he decides itโs time to come in again. He loves competing and gets very cross if the lorry leaves home without him. He especially enjoys stay away events where he gets even more attention. It has been a real privilege to be associated with Walter for the last 11yrs and although he will be 18 in January he is in great form and we hope to compete with him again in 2025."
