Important Reminder for Pet Owners , Summer Heat and Dog Safety
As temperatures rise, it's critical to remember that dogs are highly vulnerable to heatstroke. Veterinary practices across the country are already reporting cases of dogs suffering in the heat — many of which are entirely preventable.
Please follow these essential guidelines to keep your dog safe.
Avoid walking or exercising dogs during warm or hot weather.
Exercise should only be done during the early morning or after sunset when temperatures are significantly cooler.
Never leave a dog in a car , not even for a minute.
Temperatures inside vehicles can become lethal in moments, even with the windows opened.
Provide constant access to fresh water and shade, especially for brachycephalic breeds (like Bulldogs and Pugs), older dogs, and puppies who are at increased risk.
It's 2025 — we know better. Let's do better. Your dog’s life depends on you.
