The mobile information units are staffed by a specialist nurse, these units travel all over the country to provide different communities with important information regarding cancer. The foundation is focused on cancer prevention, education and support.

The Mobile unit will be here on May 24th. It will be open to all, no appointments required 😊

The weather is slowly but surely getting better, but unfortunately with good weather comes hayfever 🌻🌿

Hay fever is an allergic reaction to pollen that causes symptoms such as sneezing, coughs, an itchy nose or swollen eyes😔

It is found in very small doses in cranberries, with D-mannose pure you are getting up to 50 times more D-mannose than you would in cranberries. ☀️Why do we need Vitamin D ?☀️

Vitamin D plays a important role in keeping our bones, muscles, teeth and immune system healthy. Vitamin D is made by your body under your skin when you are outside in the sun and is necessary for the absorption of calcium. When you are not in the sun, Vitamin D can be found in eggs, oily fish, fortified food products and red meat.

It is recommended that:
Babies under 12 months need 5 mcgs of vitamin D as a supplement all year around.

Young children aged 1-4 need 5 mcgs of vitamin D as a supplement for a few months every year.

Older children need 10 mcgs of vitamin D as a supplement during the winter months.

People aged 13-64 need 15 mcgs of vitamin D as a supplement from October 31st to March 17th, all year around if you have a darker skin tone, reduced sun exposure or are pregnant.

People aged 64+ need 15 mcgs of vitamin D as a supplement all year round.

People are at risk of having a vitamin D deficiency if: you don't go outdoors often, you are a baby, you wear clothes that cover up most of your skin, have a dark skintone, or are pregnant.

A vitamin D deficiency can lead to osteoporosis and sore or weak muscles😊

Measles is a viral infection that spreads very easily. It first starts with cold like symptoms which occur 10 days after infection 🤒🤒

Common symptoms include: aches and pains, a runny nose sneezing or a cough, sore or red eyes that are sensitiveto light, a high temperature, small grey-white spots in your mouth,loss of appetite, tiredness, irritability, and a lack of energy.

After a few days a Measles rash will occur.

And of course If you do have Measles do not go to work or school, avoid the risk of spreading it 🚫
