When I was growing up we had two dogs, three cats, two rabbits and a hen called ‘Henrietta’. So I suppose my humble beginnings in animal care started from there.
For as long as I can remember I’ve always been fascinated with animals big & small. In my teenage years I started to show dogs. For anybody who doesn’t know that would involve training and grooming. I made up an Irish Champion Collie called Cindy. (Absolute sweetheart) . This was such a happy period in my life, getting to travel up and down the country showing my beautiful girl off!
Over the years I had such a strong love of dogs, I would always cater to anybody who would like me to mind their dogs alongside my own. (Disclaimer, that’s where the “Homestay” idea came in) .
In the early 2000’s I took up Dog Grooming to pursue my love of animals with a job I was passionate about.I called my Business “Dashing Dogs”.For years this is where I retained some of my customer base I still have today. Unfortunately due to the economic climate my business slowed and I had to put grooming second whilst taking up another role in animal welfare.
