Congratulations Lexi Treacy 1st place in the Junior Equitation 138cm class and Reserve Champion Equitation rider RDS 2024 🎉 a super round such a well deserved result! Well done to Valerie on all your hard work and support getting Lexi and Tilly there. Also well done to Emily Maher and Sophie Swain on starting this ponies career so well. It's great to see a young pony so well brought on by 3 young girls. 👏🎉😍

Well done Lexi Treacy what a great clear round with a 5 year old pony. Well done to all people connected to this pony, Emily Maher's first pony she has backed that has qualified for 2 competitions in the RDS and Sophie Swain for doing her first few months of competitions, then Lexi took over and brought this pony to great heights. Looking forward to seeing this pair again tomorrow in the equitation. Well done to Valerie for all your hard work helping this pair get to here. 👏🐴😍

Jane Kinsella has named her GAIN Equine Nutrition Irish Pony Eventing Squad for the Pony Eventing European Championships in Westerstede.

Horse Sport Ireland Pony Eventing Team Manager Kinsella sends a squad of six to the championships, with hopes high the team can reproduce some excellent recent results.

Ireland won bronze at the FEI European Championships for Ponies in Le Mans, France, last year, following on from a gold medal win in 2022.

Kinsella said: “I am very pleased to announce the squad for the upcoming Pony Eventing European Championships in Westerstede.

“I would like to congratulate them on their performances leading to their selection and I would also like to take this opportunity to thank their parents and support teams on their hard work, commitment and dedication to the High Performance Pony Eventing Programme.

“Huge thanks to GAIN Equine Nutrition, Horse Sport Ireland, Eventing Ireland, the GMMF and Mandy Boyle, Equieire, Dubarry, TRM Nutrition, Berney Bros Saddlery, Flex-on and KEP Italia for their ongoing support.”

Busy weekend with students at a lot of different shows. Well done Carol, Linda and Rebecca showjumping at Nuenna Farm. James, Conor, Lexi and Holly at the 3 day show in hollypark_stables. Conor at showjumping in Ballindenisk. Hannah and Sarah doing arena eventing at Hillcrest Equestrian. Some pictures of them all in action. Many placings and wins too many to list! So true ….

If you give your child a pony, they will want to ride. You’ll buy them the best pony you can find, followed by a hat, boots and all the other things pony.

You look for a local stables to ride at where you start to socialise with the horsey community...and then life as you know it, will end.

Before you know it, they want to go to shows so you join The Pony Club…there will be no more lazy weekends watching TV. You will see more sunrises than you ever thought possible.

Every spare minute of your time will be spent driving horseboxes and enduring a crazy addiction to practice for the next show.

Your house may be a mess, and your car will be dirty. All because you gave your child a pony. Your weekends will be spent freezing or burning to death on a fold up chair. And their weekends will be spent gaining confidence and friends, learning new skills and having fun and getting dirty!!!!

You will be there the day he or she takes the first few steps of canter, the first taste of a jump, first rosette, first win. And they will make you SO proud. Other parents will congratulate you, but you feel weird saying thank you because it's not you on the pony, it’s your child. It's everything that they did, they achieved. And right before your eyes, your little boy/girl will be transformed from the baby who bounced around on their rocking horse into an exceptional young horse enthusiast.

When you give your child a pony, you give them more than just something to ride. You give them a sport, a talent, hope and dreams. Friends, a new family, a place to learn about life, room to grow as a person where they can push their limits, and bravery, and courage, and memories. And they will have ALL of these things, simply because you gave your child a pony.

Because you gave your child a pony, you too will develop new/lifelong friendships, developed solely from the same passion for the sport. You will have an equestrian family because you gave your child a pony.

Then one day, many years from today…they will be in their room and a certain trophy will catch their eye. And they will pick it up and realise instantly that when you gave them a pony, you also gave them a childhood that they would never forget. At this point, you realise that everything you gave up along the way and sacrificed was totally worth it…..

All because you gave your child a pony...

Great few days at the RDS with the 3 girls competing.
Kayln with Brock Blizzard Class 1 Connemara Stallion jumping in the working hunter picking up a 6th place with a brilliant jumping round and lovely flat show.
Sophie with Here Comes Trouble in the combined training getting a clear round to finish on her dressage score in 7th place.
Lexi with Hatillia du don in the equitation class finishing in 8th place with a beautiful clear round.
Great riding by all the girls at their first Dublin Horse Show. 🐎 👏😍

James Ryan and SFH Starstruck did the COH RDS qualifier this morning, it was a great experience for them both. They were within a tight time but unfortunately had 2 poles. So proud of how this 6 year old mare and 12 year old boy have gotten up to this level so quickly with only a few weeks together jumping.
