Long lines are an essential piece of kit.

For reactivity, for loose lead, for engagement, certain sniffy sports, for agency and exploration but they are NOT for exercise and allowing our dogs to "run free".

Long lines should be used to allow our dogs some autonomy and provide the opportunity for us to reward behaviours like checking in, recall, following our direction and give them the choice to make good decision such as moving away from a trigger.

Using long lines to allow our dogs to "run" is a sure fire way to a nasty injury for both of you.

Think about the physics of it for a minute, all that muscle and power charging full steam ahead with that "jolt" when they reach the end of the line.

Not to mention the lack of learning if you're trying to teach on lead behaviours.

Dangerous for you and dangerous for your dog.

Mind those lines peoples!

If you're looking to master the long line for any of the training pieces mentioned above, get in touch and if you're looking to buy a long line, checkout  and only ever fit to a harness, never ever the collar.
