UPDATE:- There is still so much that we don’t know about this little cat but here’s what we DO know so far.
* He was microchipped in France.
* His chip is registered.
* He was chipped in August 2021
* There has been some mix up,the chip doesn’t match the details for this cat & is,in fact,not for a ginger cat at all.
*Every effort is being made in France to resolve this mix up & when it is sorted we’ll let you know.
Meanwhile we must ALL be patient & wait knowing that every possible avenue is being explored & records are being carefully examined.
* We are extremely grateful to the very dedicated veterinary team who have been & are continuing to take such extraordinary care of him.
We are enormously grateful for all the offers of help & support from all across France,Ireland & the UK.
Isn’t it extraordinary how one little,very disheveled,cat can touch so many hearts 💕 & so many caring people want to help.

REUNITED 🥰 ⚠️

This gorgeous little lady was found in the Lus An Ime estate in Cloyne yesterday after getting caught in someone’s gate.

Shes roughly 8/9 months old and not microchipped.

She has a brownish flea collar on and we are holding her in the clinic currently.

FUNDRAISER - East Cork Feral Cats and Kittens
It's that time of the year again when we need your help!!
We are trying to raise funds for so many stray cats and kittens appearing around our roads and villages. We are holding a coffee morning in the Blackbird on Saturday the 24th of Aug from 10am until 12pm. I promise it will be a great get-together with absolutely fabulous prizes for our raffle (vouchers from many of the local hotels and restaurants and also many other prizes)
Every single cent goes to looking after these unfortunate creatures. Hope to see many of you guys there😀

FELINE LEUKAEMIA DAY 2024

There are many wonderful pet holidays every year for us to celebrate, such as Walk Your Dog Day and Cuddly Kitten Day etc. These holidays can be fun and help us bond with our pets. However, few of these holidays are as important as Feline Leukaemia Day, which occurs every year on July 15.

Feline leukaemia virus (FeLV) is a contagious virus that affects cats. It is one of the leading causes of illness and death in domestic cats. In Cork we have a high prevalence of this disease amongst the feral cat population- so it’s therefore highly important we protect our pet cats against it.

It usually spreads through close contact, such as via grooming, biting, and sharing food and water bowls. Kittens can contract the virus from an infected mother during birth or through nursing. It’s a retrovirus that can suppress a cat’s immune system, making them susceptible to various infections and diseases.

Cats infected with FeLV may not show signs immediately. Over time, however, the virus can lead to various health problems, including anaemia, weight loss, poor coat condition, and a weakened immune system. FeLV-infected cats are also more prone to developing certain types of cancer. The prognosis for cats with FeLV varies but is most often fatal. Early detection and appropriate management can help improve a cat’s quality of life.

Hi, our cat has been missing since yesterday afternoon in Ballinacurra gardens, Limerick. I’m wondering could you put up a post please? We were on the way back from the vet and she managed to escape from the cat bag and ran off in our neighbourhood.

I’m worried as she only got spayed last week so she still has stitches and she also has a kitten at home. It’s not like her to be gone this long.

She’s a small cat, all black with orange eyes and very friendly.0862112850

Batman & Robin are two adorable male 7 week old kittens who will be looking for their forever home soon. They are shy boys but are coming around quickly and love their good food & home comforts! We appreciate people wanting to help kittens get to safety, but if you're helping kittens (best time to rescue kittens is around 5 weeks), make sure you are also helping the adult community cats get spayed/neutered or kittens will continue to appear OVER and OVER again.

When kittens are scooped up without a mom, she goes into heat fairly quickly and will have another litter in 2 months. It is vital to stop the cycle of nonstop littering and to get mom cat spayed to end the cycle of breeding!

And so the suffering starts. For dogs like Noah. He didn’t ask to be born a Pitbull Terrier. 😢
He doesn’t understand all the scaremongering in the media. He is just a dog looking for a family. Not just any dog, he’s a fabulous boy. Hasn’t put a paw wrong. He’s doing brilliant in foster. Loves playing with the kids, very cuddly. Low to medium energy. He’s good with other dogs and is housetrained. 😊

How many applications did Noah get? Zero. What’s going to happen to Noah and the many other dogs like him? It’s very hard to look at this sweet pupper and be at a loss what to say.
