Hi all.
We commenced our fox shoots today. First shoot with over two years.
We removed some vermin from our grouse site and in areas close by as well.
Thanks to all who helped on the day.
Very enjoyable day.
Hopefully this will continue.

Hi all.
As we move into a new phase of our grouse project, that is the releasing of the young birds.
Any information would be very much appreciated.
No smart comments, it only shows you ignorance. Thanks people.

Hi.
Just an update of our red grouse.
To date we have 12 young grouse from two breeding pairs.
And still one more incubator due tomorrow (Thursday)
Three young chicks arrived today even though the incubating was interrupted for three hours last Sunday evening due to the thunderstorm.

Hi all.
Still alive and kicking.
Going into our grouse breeding season with three pairs.
This morning one pair delivered the first egg. A female that was reared last season. So let the game begin.

Hi all.
It has been some time since we posted any news.
Well the story is we are still alive and going forward.
Our Christmas hampers were again a very successful event. Fattening our account nicely.
With that said, we are looking for three female and one male grouse. Any info would be greatly appreciated.
Many Thanks.

Hi all.
It a long time but a bit busy with our grouse.
As some people my know we were hit with some bad luck with our breeding stock.
For those of ye at the same project be advised that young rats can and will get through inch mesh. (10 gauge.) We lost 5 birds in 24 hours.
They ate the birds legs at night while trying to rest under them thus the birds died from blood loss.
So we ended up with two pairs.
The started to lay early May and we have 12 eggs incubated. So we see how things go.
We keep falling but we always get up to a much wiser challenge. No pain no gain.
Our Christmas hamper left us with a good smile. Happy out.
Till again hold the faith my friends.

Hi all.
After a devastating hit on our grouse project by a young rat (four legged) which has left our breeding in disarray. We are bouncing back and have secured two c***s but we are on the look out for companions for then. Three hens would be greatly appreciated.
So if you hear or know of any please let us know.
Many thanks.

Have the fu***ng culprit. All I need to do is trap it and set it on fire. Sorry but a slow death for it.
It was coming to it.😟😞😖😖
His destruction has really upset our plans for next year. It is going to cost us to get back on track. Fell again. . But our Lord fell three times.

Hi all.
Got home from work around 10.30 to find 3 grouse hens dead in their own separate pens.
One hen was decapitate and all legs gone from the three.
This is a massive set back and will take some sorting out as these birds were to be our breeding stock for the coming season.
What did thus I can't figure out.

Hello all.
Well we had our Christmas hampers draw last night. Again it was a very good success.
These fund will be used to go forward in our next phase of our red grouse project. That should be constructing release pens in the scantury site.
Merry Christmas to you all. Ho ho ho ho.

Hello all.
An update to our grouse project.
Well we had good and bad season.
Bad news is that two pairs produced no surviving chicks while one pair produced five chicks which have developed into maturity.
Sure enough the males are nosey but a joy to listen to. Some pictures but not of the best.
Hoping to exchange the females for females so our breeding stock moves to five pairs for next season.

Hi all.
Long time since last post. Busy with our grouse project. A bit on the disappointed side but what we have achieved is an improvement on last year. We had results from two pens out of three.
At present we have four chicks feathering out beautiful and getting stronger by the day. Their future plan is not set yet. To be decided by our members. Our ladies are still laying and I am stil hatching, even though there fertility is slim. Fingers crossed for a positive result. Pictures to follow later.
Till later C.G.P.A.
