While Claude and Frida are enjoying their holidays with us, their owners have availed of some of the new services we offer. Here we are working on loose lead walking and both pups are smashing it. Claude also got his nails clipped and messy Grinch feet tidied up 🫣😅🥰

Great day out at the Ducketts Grove dog show today. Miss Lucy did well and it was an excellent opportunity to work on her manners:) Thanks to Carlow Dog Training Club, for organizing and judging the show. We had fun :)

Our favorite Sunday of the year is almost here—it's the annual Dog Show at Mountain View Kilkenny!

Join us and our regular Sunday market for a day of pawsome fun, furry friends, and fantastic prizes. We're stoked to have Red Mills Pet sponsoring this year's Dog Show, with loads of tasty treats up for grabs. 🐾

Plus, spot prizes for the cutest pups!

🪺🪵 All proceeds from the Dog Show go to Kildare Wildlife Rescue (KWR), an amazing group that rescues, rehabilitates, and rewilds injured wildlife. It's the perfect chance to give back and show your love for all animals.

🐶 Check out awesome doggie stalls at the market, along with our usual food and craft vendors. It's going to be a blast!

Yesterday three of our clients and us attended the Dec's Pets Fun dog show in aid of WSPCA. It was an excellent training opportunity for us all.
* Lucy, still only 10 months old, was doing great until the first round of dog show when the judge went to pet her and she just lost control of herself and got super excited. For Lucy this is not a good thing as extreme excitement leads to extreme frustration and in her case, follows frustration aggression. We deal with this by preventing super excitement in the first place, so no petting by strangers! I will also note that I was super impressed how Lucy handled being around so many dogs of all sizes - pocket to giant breeds. Well done by baby!
* Sophie and Kiko (black GSD) did fantastic! Just thinking back to our first lesson, how neurotic he was... We couldn't have done this 6 months ago. Look at Sophie and Kiko rock'n'roll now! Sophie still doubted herself before the dog show saying 'We will not make it into the dog show ring' as there were so many dogs everywhere. But she shouldn't have been worried. She is a fantastic dog handler and handled her dog better than most adults there.
* Alexandra and Skye impressed me as well. Only last Thursday we had a private lesson to work on Skye's dog reactivity and lead pulling. I think Skye made her owners proud!
*Jon and Gabor, our long term clients also impressed. Gabor was on his best behavior from the moment he got out of the car. Gentle giant and so handsome. No wonder he got the 'Dog of the show' trophy. Well deserved! I was also impressed by how Jon handled a very rude lady who felt super insulted by Jon saying no to her when she asked to Gabor.
Thanks to Decs pets for being such fantastic hosts. It was a really lovely event and the money raised will go to help dogs in WSPCA
Also, go and check out they made me very nice hot chocolate! :)

If you are considering using a specific dog training tool/collar (pinch collar, ecollar, slip lead/collar etc), please look for help and guidance from your trainer. Don't just go off and buy a tool and slap it on the dog and hope your problems will be fixed. Tools don't train dogs, people do! Any tool can be abused and misused if used incorrectly. Also your dog trainer will know the best quality equipment and where to get it.

In this video Lucy is learning that moomooos aren't as scary as she first thought.

If you have a reactive dog, you need to put in the work if you want it to get better. Sofie and Kiko started group classes being all the way on the other side of the field by themselves. Look at her now!! 🥰 Hard work of weekly private lessons for a while and group classes are paying off. You're a superstar Sophie!

We have exciting news! We are offering more services to dogs staying with us for boarding.
Now you can get your dog the following grooming services during your dog's stay with us:
- Nail clipping (10 euro)
- Brushing (starting from 5 euro)
- Wash& Dry (starting from 20 euro, depending on your dog's size)
- Wash, Dry & De-shedding treatment (starting from 40 euro, depending on dog's size)

Also, if you would like us to do some training with your dog, we can offer:
- Loose lead walking lessons (15 euro per lesson)
- Basic obedience commands - sit, down, heel, stay, come, place (10 euro per day, up to 3 lessons per day)
