Sarah would like us to share this message with you all:

After 22 years working at Southview Veterinary Hospital, I am moving to a new phase in my life and leaving Southview.
As I close this chapter of my professional journey, I want to take a moment to express my heartfelt gratitude to my amazing colleagues at Southview. It has been an incredible experience working alongside such talented and dedicated individuals. I especially want to thank Alan and Kevin who have been with me every step of the way.

Together, we have tackled challenges, celebrated successes, and created memories that I will cherish forever. I am proud of what we’ve achieved and will carry these lessons with me as I embark on my next adventure.
To all our customers I want to thank you for supporting our business.
Thank you to our farm customers, from the Peter Dougan and Muiris Dromey practices, who welcomed me into their yards and supported us over the years. You never judged me for being a city girl and I could not imagine being involved in a nicer farming community.
To my small animal customers, all the dogs, cats and small furrys who have been my patients over the past 22 years, it has been the most wonderful experience for me. We have shared the happy and the sad times and I have loved every minute of it.

Thank you for the support, laughter, and camaraderie. I look forward to staying connected and wish everyone at Southview Veterinary Hospital continued success!

It is with great sadness we announce that Sarah Mitchell's last day with us here at Southview Vets will be this Friday, the 31st of January. Sarah has been a part of the heart and soul of Southview for the last 22 years, since first joining in 2003.

Not only has she been a friendly face for owners and pets alike, she has played a major role in all aspects of running the business behind the scenes. From coordinating with Paws Animal Rescue on the many rescues that have come into our care here, to being the go-to problem solver for our staff of Southview, to her clinical expertise; it is fair to say that Sarah will be very missed.

We would like to take this opportunity to thank her for her years of dedication to the practice & we hope you will join us in wishing her all of the best in her next venture.

Due to the red status weather warning from Met Éireann we will be closed tomorrow morning until 1pm, we will be offering our emergency service only throughout this period. Our clinic is hoping to resume normal hours from 1pm tomorrow and if any appointments have been affected we will be in contact with you throughout this evening to reschedule.

Please watch our social media for updates regarding the weather warning as we monitor the situation closer and will provide an update if anything changes.

We are hoping to open as normal tomorrow, Wednesday the 8th of January.

As some of our staff have journeys to make themselves please be advised there may be some delays to our services but you can continue to call our on call emergency number at 0871318706 to speak to a vet or for further updates today and tomorrow.

If you are travelling tomorrow either via car or foot please be cautious and make sure your safety is your main priority as conditions are still dangerous.

We are still being affected by severe weather conditions and this will cause disruptions to the services our clinic can offer.

We will attempt to reopen the clinic once there is a thaw on the roads so please keep an eye on our social media for further updates to see when this will go ahead.

Our main priority is the safety of all our staff, clients and patients so please take care and don't put yourselves in any dangerous conditions.

If anyone's appointment has been affected we will be in touch shortly to make arrangements and as always, you can reach one of our vets on the emergency on call number at 087-1318706 although please be advised our emergency services may also be limited due to the weather.

We have begun a course of antibiotic treatment & he has received some food via tube feeding. Tick season 🙈 We are seeing increasing numbers of pets with ticks this time of year. This small pouch of ticks was removed from a dog that came into us yesterday infested with them, within 24 hours the treatment had done its job & the ticks were dead 🙏 Ensure your pets are up to date with their preventative treatments to avoid these nasties & the diseases they can spread to us & our pets ❤️ #veterinarymedicine#tickseason#prevention

⚠️ Urgent appeal ⚠️ This handsome male neutered adult cat that was dropped into us a number of weeks ago is crying out for a loving home- he is fab, loves attention & is an all round great cat ❤️ An ideal home for him would be indoor/outdoor as that is what he's accustomed to but he will need to be kept indoors only for a period of two weeks to allow him get used to his surroundings.
