Puppy Update.
We know this is long overdue but it's been really busy here!
Anyway a week last Monday Vandal started her labour in the morning and we were all set for what follows, however nothing followed! Long story short 24 hours later with no furthering activity we decided it was time to step in. Long story short Vandal ended up with a C Section and 4 beautiful little ones to take home (there was only 4 and we didn't lose anyone).
Because of the C Section Vandal was struggling to feed the puppies because it was so painful and if that wasn't enough she developed mastitis which only added to the pain for her. She became super stressed trying to feed and again we had to step in for her as the pain and stress of it all means very little milk was being produced.
So for the past week we have all been working around the clock to bottle feed (not always easy for puppies in the beginning) and ensure Vandal gets time to recover. We are now 9 days in and all puppies are thriving and growing like weeds. Vandal is slowly recovering and still helps out with a tiny bit of feeding and with cleaning and is feeling less stressed. The humans are exhausted and crispy!
So absolutely not the smooth journey we hoped for but also this is breeding..... sometimes it doesn't go to plan and you have to be prepared to do the hard work, it isn't easy! Definitely not for the feint of heart. The main thing is we everyone came home safe and will be just fine. 😍
