It's World Donkey Day! Here's my mischievous monsters, Little Jon and Mousie. A big thank you to all at for the work they do for these beautiful animals. On the island of Ireland these animals provided essential labour in the past. They are now seen as companion animals but they need your help, time and unfortunately money. Do what you can for these lovely souls. There are still plenty around the county in a terrible state of neglect. They worked for us, now we should care for them.

Happy Halloween folks! Dog costumes won't last in here so I've decided to dress up instead.

What's scarier than me in a tutu with my feet in animal heads and an umbrella hat.?. its not even raining! 😂🤪😂

Carefull this evening with the loud fireworks and callers to the door. Please make sure all your animals are in and secure today. Radio/tv turned up to drown out the noise. Stay safe!

Another hot few days coming. Keep them in the shade as much as possible. Remember it's going to reach 29 degrees but that's air temperature. So 29 degrees in the shade. If leaving your pets in the house close all windows and curtains/blinds, keep that hot air out. Make sure they have no access to a sunroom or conservatory, I know mine reached 48 degrees during the last hot spell. Don't give an overheated or dehydrated animals ice, just clean water(ice is fine as a treat). Obviously don't leave them in the car, even if it's "just for a minute" 😡! 24/7 access to water and don't forget to leave out a few shallow bowls of water for the wildlife. Keep an eye and an ear open for the vulnerable and elderly in your community. Drop in our give them a call.

Unless you live under a rock, which would be quite shady actually, then you know the hot weather is here. Better your pets miss a walk than get heat stroke. Access to water and shade is must for all of us and them. Even soak a few towels and put them down for beds or drape over them, or yourself 😂. Don't forget the wildlife. Be careful folks!
