Meet handsome Henry ❤️

Henry was the bravest boy for his aural haematoma surgery this morning! 🐾

Ear haematomas are most commonly seen in our floppy eared friends and can form due to an underlying ear infection or allergies. As a result of excess scratching and head shaking, blood pools form a large swelling on the ear. These can be very painful and need to be surgically repaired by a veterinarian.

Luckily, Henry’s was caught on time, and he is feeling much better now. Wishing you a speedy recovery buddy! 🤞🏻

Meet Ixodes Ricinus.

This little fella, known more commonly as the Sheep Tick, is responsible for over 70% of ticks affecting dogs in the Ireland

Seen mainly in grassland, moorland, heath and woodland, they are also found in suburban and urban areas, so all pet owners must please be cautious as they can cause disease transmission of Lyme disease and Anaplasmosis.

Thankfully we have some very palatable products that can protect your dog and your family, which should all be part of your regular checks and treatments.

To learn more about how to protect for ticks and other parasites, or to book in for your seasonal checks & vaccs, please call us : 021 451 1122.

Sharing on behalf of one of our friends :

“I wanted to check in to see if you have had seen any sight of my mothers dog that is missing. The dog’s name is Toby, he is very old (approx 18) and has bad vision and hearing. He is light brown and white in colour, and will be wearing a little collar.

He lives with my mother in the Shandon area, Cork City, and went missing on the night of 2nd June. I have been in touch with CRSPCA, ISPCA, local vets, dog warden, lots of lost & found groups on Facebook, and have put posters up all around the vicinity. Me and my family have clocked up hundreds of miles between us in the past 10 days trying to locate him.

So far, there was only one sighting, about a half hour after he went missing, but the message was posted on Munster lost and found the following day and we have combed the area multiple times with no further sightings.

I am attaching some photos for you. If he is located, or if you have heard anything about a missing dog of his description (eg: you might have heard or a dog knocked down, or drowned, as much as I hate to say this but my mother lives really close to the river lee), I would deeply appreciate if you can you please call me on 0851664358.

We love him dearly and are going out of our mind with worry.

Thank you so much, praying for his safe return.

Caroline.

Thanks to Lisa who very kindly took the time to offer us a very generous review and rating on google …….

“Can’t recommend Goolds high enough. Very clean and inviting practice with lovely staff but it was the high level of care given to my cat who was in for something quite serious. They took such good care of him, got him better so he could come home when I wasn’t even sure that would be possible. They kept me updated every day which really put my mind at ease. I feel very lucky I found them and won’t be going anywhere else for Logan’s care. Genuinely recommend them to everyone, your pet will be in the best hands out there by a mile! Thank you from both me and Logan 😊”.
