🐾 Age is just a number, not a disease🐾
Many are anxious to put their geriatric animals under a general anaesthetic, but we have come a long way in advancing techniques to make procedures safer for our older patients🫶
Painful dental disease is the most common welfare issue affecting senior pets, and it is sadly a contributing factor to heart, kidney and liver disease, dementia and severe chronic pain.
Even with severe dental pain, patients will continue to eat despite being severely uncomfortable! 🫨🫨
This 16 year old handsome man Archie presented to us with a swelling on his face.
On examination it was clear Archie had severe dental disease even though he was still eating and going about his daily activities, unfortunately there wasn’t any teeth we were able to salvage due to severe disease and infection so we had to extract all of his teeth!🫨
Archie should be feeling much more comfortable after his procedure as his painful and infected teeth have now been removed!✨
See the comments below for video of the infection in one of Archie’s teeth, but be warned it’s a little gruesome!🥴
Wishing Archie a speedy recovery💖💖
