Thank you to everyone who helped to make the David Corcoran Memorial Show 2023 the success that it was, allowing us all a day to remember and pay tribute to some very special people, those listed on the Schedule and others who are not but who are also remembered. One of those being David's friend, Jack Dodd. The JD Horse Polar Fleece Therapy Rugs which were presented at the prize givings were sponsored by David and Trish Dodd, Jack Dodd Foundation Another Michael Regan, for whom David rode many ponies, was spoken about many times throughout the day. Sadly there are many more gone too soon from the equestrian world, whos absence is felt by everyone. While an emotional day it was also a very enjoyable one, surrounded and supported by a great bunch of people.
Thank you to the competitors, who turned out in great numbers to support the Show, the Sponsors, the Judges: Noeleen Kerins and Martha Saba, who did an excellent job and who together with the Starters in the Pocket: Megan Burke Keira Conway, Ellen Cox, Aynsley Foss and Elaine Gardiner kept the classes moving efficiently. Brian Finan who helped out in the preparations for the Show, provided the tabards for the Arena Party and kept the Arena rolled, not forgetting Walter Cox who played his part in keeping the ground in good jumping condition and Turlough Nursery who provided the shrubs to enhance the Arena. The wonderful James and Ava Gardiner who were ready to pick up a pole when the need arose and those on Vehicle Parking duty, Mikey Syron and @ Michael McHugh, who did an excellent job. Thanks to the Mayo Civil Defence Team and Dr. Enda Loftus, who were on standby should they be needed but thank God we had an accident free day. Michael Gordon provided food and refreshments and a friendly word as always at Gordon's Country Catering with Padraig Reilly providing the timing equipment and remaining on stand by for the day. A well deserved thank you to Aynsley Foss who travelled from Canada to be with us on the day in remembering David.
