This is something everyone should see. This xray is of a 2 week old puppy.

When you get your 8/10 week old puppies, please keep this image in mind. Their bones do not even touch yet. They plod around so cutely with big floppy paws and wobbly movement because their joints are entirely made up of muscle, tendons, ligaments with skin covering. Nothing is fitting tightly together or has a true socket yet.

When you run them excessively or don't restrict their exercise to stop them from overdoing it during this period you don't give them a chance to grow properly. Every big jump or excited bouncing run causes impacts between the bones. In reasonable amounts this is not problematic and is the normal wear and tear that every animal will engage in.

But when you're letting puppy jump up and down off the lounge or bed, take them for long walks/hikes, you are damaging that forming joint. When you let the puppy scramble on tile with no traction you are damaging the joint.

You only get the chance to grow them once. A well built body is something that comes from excellent breeding and a great upbringing-BOTH, not just one.

Once grown - around 12-18 months depending on their breed, you will have the rest of their life to spend playing and engaging in higher impact exercise. So keep it calm while they're still little baby puppies and give the gift that can only be given once.

Emergency local foster needed for Logan, a gorgeous 3.5-year-old Labrador cross with a heart full of playfulness and charm. This big, beautiful boy adores playing ball and will fill your days with energy and joy!

Would you be able to welcome Logan in your home for the winter?

He urgently needs a warm foster home with no other dogs.

100% support will be provided: for food, bedding, and the training he needs.

We really need a local temporary home asap, for a few months, so we can work with him in a nice warm home environment.

Please share and reach out if you can help.

Let’s help Logan get the care and space he needs!

Thank you

Always a pleasure to work with this gorgeous boy. Logan just being himself, handsome and goofy today 😂 Logan is a 3 year old lab cross. He is still looking for a forever home or foster. He is playful and will be your best friend forever. He can be nervous of other dogs so he needs to be an only dog. How can anyone resist this face?

National black dog day 🐾 Celebrating those 2 rescue beauties and raising awareness today for them and all the other black dogs that are sadly overlooked in shelters. Logan on top is a 3 year old lab cross. Goofy, playful, energetic, with a big heart. He is a large dog, he needs an active household and he needs to be an only dog. Charlie the collie cross is about 3 as well. He used to be very anxious but he is thriving in foster and is a lovely soul, very affectionate. He has a lot of energy and would also love an active household but he is really able to settle and would love to find his own human he can watch telly with while getting cuddles ☺️ If you can adopt a black beauty please do, we honestly do not understand why they are overlooked. We absolutely love them

❤️Chico has been adopted by Carlton & Dee ❤️

💔Chico is only 9 months old 💔 But his time on earth is now limited to just days….if he can’t find a forever home 💔😢😢 He will be euthanised 😢
💔 PLEASE PLEASE SHARE 💔

Chico is a very sweet natured Bully, he’s had a hard start to life, living outdoors in a dirty pen with little human attention, but he’s still a very good & kind boy who doesn’t deserve to die.

💔Chico’s time is running out, he’s currently in the pound and on the countdown to his euthanasia day. He needs a forever home before the awful ban comes into place regarding XL Bully’s as sadly he could be deemed TYPE & therefore will lose his life 😢

Chico has been around other dogs without any issues, he’s a sweet natured boy with a gentle soul who has never done anything wrong. Does he deserve to die?? We don’t think so 😢😢

If you could SHARE his post in the great hope that he finds someone willing to love & protect him always. His time is running out 💔

To adopt Chico please complete our application below. As he’s a breed that is now in danger he cannot be homed to Council owned properties as he could be seized. Thank you

This ban is already in place in Northern Ireland & the UK so sadly Chico can’t go to N.Ireland or the UK.

I have the absolute pleasure of working with this stunning boy at the minute, been working with him for a few weeks. He is about 3 years old, labrador mix (big boy), rescue dog that went through a few things so working on healing him at the minute. Lovely temperament, beautiful, friendly, goofy, playful. He is nervous of other dogs at the moment so he needs to be an only dog. He is in foster at the moment, looking for his forever home. He needs time and work but he will be your best friend in no time. This boy is in the care of Dogs in Distress so please contact them if you can offer him a home. Thank you.
