At The Cat's Pyjamas we love all animals, but cats have a very special place in our heart. While you're away we would love to provide your cat with all the care, love and attention normally provided by you. Kim at The Cat's Pyjamas has a lot of experience with all types of behaviour and personalities. She has been a veterinary nurse for the past 10 years and has loved working with kitties so much

that she went on to obtain a certificate and also a diploma in feline nursing. Kim knows how important a familiar environment is to keep cats calm and happy and so providing owners with the option to keep their cats at home while they are away just makes sense. We know that every cat is different and beautifully quirky in their own ways so we send out a questionnaire sheet before we ever meet your cat, just so we have an idea who we are going to be introduced to and how we can tailor our care to meet your cats individual needs. We are very comfortable giving any sort of medication/ treatment requires to remain healthy and happy. We're looking forward to getting to know you and your feline family members.

Services provided:
Cat/ pet sitting (visiting the house):
Once daily visit- €15/day €95/week (7days)
Twice daily visit- €20/day €130/week
Three times daily- €30/day €200/week

No extra charges per pet or if your pet needs any special care. As dogs need a different kind of attention and care compared to cats and other small animals, we are not in a position to provide a pet sitting for dogs at the moment. We can provide care for cats/ other small animals at our own premises if you’d feel this would suit your pets better but these spaces are very limited at the moment so please try book this service as early as possible.

❤❤❤ Did you know 😻😻😻

I know you can tell just from this picture what sound this cat is making 😊😊😊

A beautiful purr 🥰 the sound we all want to get from our cat. This sound means content to most people which is true 😊 and did you know a cats purr has been associated with reducing blood pressure and stress levels in people. They believe this is because of the frequency of the purr... taking healing sound baths to another level 💆‍♀️🧘
But did you also know the purr can mean other things and isn't even fully understood yet. Another instance where a cat might purr is if they are in pain or injured, which is a far cry from what we know the purr to indicate 😔😔 they think cats do this in order to promote healing within themselves using the aforementioned purr frequencies.

Cats are just amazing little creatures and still have so much mystery about them 😻

Following on from last week's post about the happy tail greeting, there's sometimes a little vocal greeting to go alongside the happy tail.
This is known as a TRILL 😊😊 it sounds like a happy little hum
This has to be my favourite sound in the world 🥰
It's definitely a sound reserved for special people in the kitty's life so when I hear this trill I feel blessed 🙌 😭🥰
Have a listen the next time your cat greets you..... they may be 'trilled' to see you 😉😉😆

🤔❓ DID YOU KNOW?❓🧠

Cats who approach you with an upright tail with a little hook at the top is an excellent sign 😸 this cat is happy to see you... this is how cats greet their friends 😻

Body language is extremely important to watch as they are mainly silent communicators.
For me coming into their territory I LOVE when I'm greeted like this 🥰 especially when I visit my regular clients 💕💕

🌾🥕🥔 Blessed Lughnasadh 🌾🍂🥖🍞

Lughnasadh marks the begin of the harvest season. A time to start harvesting and storing crops and food for the winter.
These barns full of stored grain of course attracted rodents looking for a meal in the colder months 🐁🐀
Clever cats of course saw an opportunity for an easy meal too. Did you know that cats, unlike mot other pets, domesticated themselves? Farmers saw how helpful cats could be at protecting their food stores from small critters, so they they allowed them to stick around. This is why they still have that wild streak and urge to hunt.... it was never bred out of them 😼

This fun chap is called Silver 💓😍 I always had lots of fun going to visit little Silver, he was always wanting to play and sooo much cuddles needed, he kept me on my toes for sure 🤩 very sad to say goodbye to Silver but hope to see him again 😻 I even got a lovely hand made thank you card from his family, very much appreciated x

My OG girls 😸😻 these are the cats that had the very first Pyjamas experience 💕 their owners actually have a lot of credit for putting ideas in my head over a year ago to get The Cat's Pyjamas up and going 😸
They are: Kaja 🐈‍⬛ (the tiny boss), Isibindi 🐈‍⬛ (the chilled out girl) and Tapinka 🐱 (the orange playful rocket)
They have a kitty Palace to call home complete with catio 🙀😻 such lucky girls!
It's always a privilege to go out to mind these girls. They have very different personalities and it's been very fun trying to make friends with each of them individually 💕💞 can't wait to see you girls again x

Say hello to Sandy 😍😍 one of the most chilled cats I've ever met 😸 Sandy likes the freedom of being outside for certain periods of the day to meet up with his best pal 😻 so I had the job of being his doorman 😁😁 and of course keeping his little belly full 😊🥣🐟 I really loved going to see him everyday 💕 absolutely gorgeous 😍

Recently we had the pleasure of minding Darius 😸 an independent boy who's fond of cuddles 💕
Instead of going to cattery for only a couple of days his mammy tried keeping him at home with me coming out twice daily to fill up his bowl, give cuddles and make sure he was keeping of of trouble 😼💕
This worked very well for Daruis 😊

Your cat doesn't have to be a house cat or even friendly 😸 Maybe you're kind enough to feed a feral colony or singleton 💕🐈‍⬛ Please give me a shout if you are one of these special people and are worried about leaving your outdoor friends alone while you're away. I'd be happy to work something out to keep them fed and watched over while you step away for a much deserved break 🏖🌆🏕

Did you know that I can care for more then just cats while you are away 😸
I'm used to caring for a lot of different pets and animals due to my background in veterinary nursing and I've also just had a lot of different pets through the years 🥰🥰 these included:
A rabbit 🐇
A guinea pig 💕
Hamsters 🐹
Mice 🐁
Cats 🐈 of course 😸
Rats 🐀
Chickens 🐔
And dogs 🐕 (but can only mind dogs for a very limited/short time 😔)
No speciesism here 😄 any pet is welcome 😉 😊
