Drumshallon Forge Heritage Centre is situated on the Ballymakenny to Grangebellow Road, approximately 6 miles from Drogheda, Co. Louth, just north of the Piperstown Equestrian Centre. A92 DF7X
The forge and premises have been restored recently by Drumshallon Forge Restoration Community Group, with the support of Louth Leader Partnership under the Rural Development Scheme 2006-2013. The forge and
premises are approximately 400 years old and replaced an older forge nearby which dates from the time of the Battle of Clontarf in 1014. As part of the restoration programme, a Community Hall has been built on to the existing buildings, providing a premises for community classes and events.
