WHO DO WE HAVE HERE? ❤️ - NINE MONTH OLD COLLIES LOOKING FOR A FOSTER HOME
_______________
We were asked by our friends at Louth Dog Pound if we could help with even one of these young collies. We said we would try. Maybe if we are lucky - two.
➡️ Not well socialised with life.
➡️ Never had a collar on and definitely never walked on a lead.
➡️ Very timid, weary, but curious.
They were not ill treated but just left to their own devices. They have never known anything else except each other.
Homes with a secured garden, lots of patience, and previous experience with dogs is needed.
⁉️ Unknown around cats
⁉️ Unknown around young children
‼️ NO UN-NEUTERED DOGS IN THE HOME

💔 THE PASSING OF WHISKEY KNOWN AS THE MAGDALENE TOWER CAT OF DROGHEDA CO LOUTH - Thursday July 11th, 2024 😔
_______________
We are deeply saddened to hear of the passing of ‘WHISKEY’. His health was starting to fail, and his mum Fenella did all she could to help him, but the prognosis was not good. It was time to go.
WHISKEY quietly passed away last night in Fenella’s arms. Needless to say, Fenella is heartbroken as he was such a great companion
to her, and her to him. Whiskey was adopted by Fenella on March 25th, 2023 and lived out his remaining days with her in Co Tipperary in the quiet countryside.
This is the last video of WHISKEY sent to us just a few days before his passing.
Rest in Peace Little Man. You were definitely one of a kind, and will always be remembered as one of Drogheda’s legends. 2008 to 2024.
➡️ CAN ANYONE HELP⁉️ KITTEN FOSTERERS DESPERATELY NEEDED‼️
________________
These four semi-feral kittens were trapped by one of our volunteers. They have been wormed and received their first set of vaccinations.
We would like to split them in pairs for fostering as it will be easier to handle them and help socialise them better with humans.
These four are some of the lucky ones as there is a heap more out there fending for themselves, living rough in many neighbourhoods, estates, hiding in fields, in garden sheds, and their life is all about survival.
If you can open your home and heart to helping these little ones, please contact us ASAP. We will provide you with everything you need for fostering.

➡️ UPDATE: OUR LOCAL WILDLIFE REHABILITATOR ASSESSED THE YOUNG GULL FOR INJURY & WITH THE HELP OF A LOCAL RESIDENT, PLACED THE GULL SAFELY ON A ROOFTOP.
______________
CAN ANYONE ASSIST HERE? - St Benan’s Villas, Laytown Co Meath
_______________
It is Sunday afternoon and we are exhausted, and trying to get some time off & rest from the rescue work, but animals in need never rest.
Is there anyone in the area who can check out this young Gull and get it into safety as it seems to have fallen from its nest and is at risk to predators being so exposed in the open. It is hard to tell if its leg is injured.
➡️ If there are any flat roofs in the area, the baby gull can be put onto that type of roof. Steeped roofs are a bit more precarious as the Gull could easily slip down.

MOORLAND CAFÉ CAT - AN UPDATE FROM HIMSELF
_______________
Thor the Magnificent here to give you an update on myself. Well … I am still in hospital feeling very sorry for self. My temperature is up to 40 C. That’s what they say when they stick something up my backside, and I don’t particularly like it.
I have had blood tests done, my ears cleaned, drops in me eyeballs, I’m putting on weight and now just over 3-kg, still have diarrhoea🏃♂️💩, cat flu symptoms lessening, and I heard my own personal vet Tina tell DAR over the phone my white blood count is high so my very worn out ginger striped furry body is fighting an infection.
And … I heard my vet telling DAR that I am making biscuits. Now, I ask you. Just cos I was hanging out at Moorland Café does not mean I had either the time nor opportunity to take baking lessons. But they should create & name a biscuit after me. What do you think? No! No! No! … not a Ginger biscuit.
Good News! I have a foster home just waiting for me to grace their presence. No other cats or animals … just what I need to rest & recover.
And some more good news! Apparently I am too ill to castrate so I can hold onto my two fluffy plums a little bit longer. 😼
If you would like to help with my veterinary costs that are mounting, please do so. The kind folk in DAR will be delighted, I will be delighted, the veterinary hospital will be delighted, and we can all go back to drinking cups of coffee ☕️ and eating cake 🍰.

2. iDonate: https://www.idonate.ie/cause/dar
3. Contact Allpets Veterinary Hospital directly on 041 981 0000 and make a donation to the DAR CAT ACCOUNT & tell them it’s for me.
Thank you from my good self & DAR 🙏
OUR MOORLAND CAFÉ SURVIVOR - NOW NEEDS A FOSTER HOME 😊 🐈
______________
Our Ginger Tom needs a place to go. Now rescued from being trapped behind the Moorland Café on West Street in Drogheda for weeks, spending the weekend in hospital on a drip due to severe dehydration and starvation, he is now ready for discharge.
He is a hungry buck and has a bit of a flu, so needs to be isolated from other cats. He will need to be castrated but isn’t fully recovered for that just yet.
His original story got a bit of press. So everyone who suggested parasailing in, breaking windows, barging through locked and boarded up doors, climbing over dodgy and unstable rooftops, placing planks of boards from window ledge to window ledge, compared the trapped cat to a trapped child, basically suggesting we break the law and jeopardise the safety of the public and our own volunteers, well now is your time to shine.
His Royal Nibs needs a foster home now. He isn’t fully recovered yet and is showing symptoms of cat flu, so needs to be isolated from other cats.
➡️ Anyone recognised him as their missing cat?
If you can help foster Mr No More Moorland, please contact us ASAP.

WHISKEY - AN UPDATE ON THE LITTLE MAN FORMERLY FROM THE MAGDALENE TOWER - He is a fighter! 💪🏼
_______________
Whiskey hasn’t been well and his mam Fenella rushed him to the hospital last Sunday with a follow-up visit the next day, and another visit scheduled for tomorrow.
He has been diagnosed with congestive heart failure and is on medication that will hopefully make him feel a bit better.
Mam Fenella reports that Whiskey is indeed feeling better and is moving around more, and eating & drinking now.
He is a little purring machine as you can hear, and we know his mam will take very good care of him and give him what he needs. She has been keeping us updated so we thought we’d share this little video of the man himself 😊.
SPARKY - 14 Year old Pomeranian needs a Retirement Home after losing his owner 😔
_______________
Sparky lost his 92-year old owner last week and has no where to go. DAR was asked to help and of course we want to help Sparky as he has plenty of life in him. 😊
Is there anyone out there who can give Sparky a retirement home until the end of his days?
➡️ We do not know how he is with other dogs or cats.
If you can help, please contact us ASAP. 🙏
