🌟 Introducing the Connemara Pony World Search for a Star Championship! 🌟

We are delighted to announce the "Connemara Pony World Search for a Star Championships", set to take place at the Irish Draft Championship Show in Punchestown, County Kildare, Ireland, on August 31, 2024!

Inspired by the renowned young horse classes at events like the Dublin Horse Show and the Burghley Young Event Horse, this championship will spotlight the talents of 4 and 5-year-old Connemara ponies.

Jumping Phase: Each pony will jump 10 fences to earn up to 100 marks for jumping technique. Fence heights are set at 85cm for 4-year-olds and 95cm for 5-year-olds.

Scoring: Ponies will also be awarded marks each for future potential and rideability.

Finalist Selection: The top eight ponies with the highest scores from round one (4 ponies each from 4yo and 5yo categories) will progress to the second round for further assessment. Further assessment will include being ridden by a professional rider wo will make the final assessment.

Eligibility:
Age: Open to 4 and 5-year-old Connemara ponies. No height cert required.

Rider: Age of rider TBC (confirming insurance) but we believe it will be for riders 14 and over

Registration: Ponies must be registered with the Connemara Pony Breeders Society.

Congratulations to our vet Philip McManus for winning the ITBA Western Region Contribution to the Industry Award 2023 at the Galway Races yesterday.

The award recognises the hard work and dedication Philip has provided over the last year (and more)! The whole team at Glenina are delighted to see Philip win this award and know that it couldn’t have gone to a more deserving person!!
