An unusual time of year for grass seeds 🍃

Poor Cleo’s ear had been very sore so Jean elected to sedate her to make her more comfy, and to get a good look into the ear canal🔭

Swipe to see what she found 👀

Thankfully the grass seed was easily removed and Cleo is feeling a lot better ✨

Recently, our patient Simba was unfortunately involved in a road traffic accident. He presented as a respiratory emergency with wounds on his body. Upon further investigation, X-Rays showed a pneumothorax (air around the lungs) due to trauma. This air had to be drained from the thoracic cavity by one of our veterinary surgeons. Once Simba was stabilised we were able to stitch up his wounds and we are now happy to report he is making a very speedy recovery! 👩‍⚕️🐈

A very big welcome to our new RVN Ciara! ✨
Since joining the team Ciara has brought laughs, exotic expertise and of course lots of baked goods courtesy of her mam! 🧁
Get to know her better with some fun facts:
🐦 she loves bird watching and will quiz whoever she’s with
🐶 she has a yorkie called Benny, hognose snake and a leopard gecko!
🦟 she is deathly afraid of crane flies and will scream a room down without a second thought!

We are delighted to have Ciara as part of our DBV team!

One of our favourite practice cats Maurice aka little Mo, was in for his routine scale and polish 🦷 Poor dental health can lead to gum infection which can eventually impact some of the major organs too. Thankfully, dental X-rays showed us that Maurice just needed a scale and polish. We recommend a yearly dental check and brushing to help maintain oral health. 😁
Whatsapp us on 0874650218 to ask about a free dental check with one of our vets.

Let’s hear it for Jean 👏🏼

She has slotted in seamlessly having joined the team a few weeks ago.

Fun facts about Jean:

🐮Her first pet was a cow called Meredif
💕She has so much time for everyone! We love the chats
📍She traded the sandy beaches of Australia for the soggy streets of Clongriffin not too long ago, and tells us she’s very happy with her decision

We’re delighted to have her, and can’t wait for you to meet her 🫶🏻

Today we say goodbye to Philip, our incredible vet and master of misplacing everything! 😂 He is off to travel which I guess is an ok reason for leaving us 👌 ✈️🌎

From hiding supplies in the most random spots to making us laugh with your never-ending jokes, the clinic just won’t be the same without you. We’ll miss your talent for turning every day into a scavenger hunt, your care for the animals, and the laughter you brought to the team💙

It’s hard to imagine Dublin Bay Vets without you, but we’re excited for your next adventure. Wishing you all the best on your travels, Philip—just don’t lose your passport!🐾✈️🤣🩵

Harvey was here with a sore eye at the beginning of July. Luckily it wasn't bothering him at all, but looked red and inflamed👁

Etain diagnosed him with episcleritis, which is a common condition among collie and spaniel breeds, which Harvey is a mix of🐾

A couple of weeks of treatment later (and some happy treat visits) and Harvey's eye is now back to normal and he's in flying form✨

Dublin Bay Vets

Dublin Bay Vets was established in 2019 by Donal Cape and Colm de Barra, old friends from college.

Donal and Colm share the same philosophies on pet medicine and animal welfare. They are always willing to listen to the concerns of owners.

We believe that pet health care requires collaboration between the vet and the pet owner. We will provide a practical approach whilst adhering to the highest standards of veterinary medicine.

You can always count on a welcome for you and your pet at Dublin Bay Vets. Our team of vets and nurses will always treat each pet as a VIP, because that’s just what they are: important. They know it, and so do we!
