Harvey was here with a sore eye at the beginning of July. Luckily it wasn't bothering him at all, but looked red and inflamed👁

Etain diagnosed him with episcleritis, which is a common condition among collie and spaniel breeds, which Harvey is a mix of🐾

A couple of weeks of treatment later (and some happy treat visits) and Harvey's eye is now back to normal and he's in flying form✨

It was a bus man’s holiday for nurse Rachel who arrived to her B&B in Italy to discover her help was needed in the delivery of some puppies!

Nurse-mode on and a couple of hours later mom had 4 healthy pups 🐶

Rachel can now be found sipping well-deserved cocktails somewhere along the Amafi Coast 😎

Here's to Daisy🌼

She brought us on quite the journey, from her spirited antics that brought her to our clinic, to her unmatched determination to have things her way, she taught us the true meaning of resilience and character.

In the four and a half years we've gotten to know Daisy, she battled pancreatitis, diabetes, renal and mammary cancer, skin disease, and even managed to find time to swallow a bottle cap. Through all of this she got to know us well, and she became a celebrity with staff; we always looked forward to seeing her potter around the place with her unwavering self-confidence.

Our clinic feels a little quieter without her, but we're finding comfort in knowing her mischievous spirit won't soon be forgotten. She had the most wonderfully supportive family who have kindly given us permission to post about little Daisy 🌼

Moo is being incredibly responsibly in seeking shade from the lovely sun 🌞

Did you know our pets need sun protection also? Their little noses and the tips of their ears are prime sunburn spots 🥵

To avoid this, make sure they like shady spots as much as lounging in direct sunlight, and use pet-specific sun cream 😎

Introducing ✨DBV Staff Cats✨

🧐O.J. aka Osgur John: a regal fellow, he likes to join Colm and Eamon on walks, he only goes so far however, as he likes to sit and judge from a distance.

🎃Pumpkin: when she's not chilling on the toaster, she likes to hang out of the curtains, Etain's clothes, and anything else she can get her tiny paws into.

🔥Eamo: brother of Billo, Eamo's favourite human is Dave, who's favourite cat is Billo.

❄️Billo: brother of Eamo, Billo's favourite human is Lucía, which Dave is very unhappy about.

🪿Goose: a proud Meath man, Goose likes to hangout with his best pal Louis. When he's not snuggling, he helps Rachel with the housework, as proven by this picture of him in the dustpan.

🩵Tom: despite popular belief, Sarah assures us that Thomas does actually have four legs. He's self-conscious of his front left one though, so hides it in pictures.

🫛Maurice: his favourite thing to do is play with green beans. Rumour has it that once, Naomi opened the fridge and Maurice jumped into the fridge, found the green beans, and took one for himself. He does not care for the taste of green beans.

🫥Pudding: perfectly content with her own company, Pudding likes to make Sinead worry for hours on end, by hiding in places such as behind drawers in bedside lockers, and not bothering to make her presence known.

🐮Moo: she spends most of her time in a chaotic blurr, but when she's chilling, she prefers the cool porcelain of the bathroom sink, rather than her many comfy sleeping alternatives Eric has provided.

🍊George: The OG Orange Cat of DBV, George is an independent, nocturnal fellow who has a strict breakfast time of 6am, and will wake up Alice by jumping directly on her head to remind her of this.

🫗Young Mick: he is mad for a pint. A pint glass of water. Michael will climb humans to get at a pint glass of water. Katie reckons he went through a challenging adolescent-hood where his primordial pouch was too big for his face, but we think he was always cute!
