Today 3 years ago was the day I ceased trading and embarked on my new path..... I still think of and talk about every single Smartie every single day! Be it from funny things that happened on walks, funny behaviour ticks anyone had or the sadness of not owning any of you but still loving you like I did, especially when talking about passing. 3 years on, I don't regret the life it has shown me, and I still love every single hair on each and every one of your heads, tails and paws!! Hi everyone!!! Long time no speak. I have been off Facebook for a good long time now. And I have also been having a good long think..... I was wondering if I should re-open Pet Smart /Dublin Muttley crew? In the last few years, I have been off the scene and in a couple of different jobs that I have learned from. I think a would help me be able to manage my business better and with new eyes. Let me know what you think, would you like to see us rise like a phoenix from the ashes or should I just leave it asleep?? I hope you are all well, I miss all your faces. A recent study shows that the social gazing behavior of domestic dogs resembles that of humans: dogs view facial expressions systematically, preferring eyes. In addition, the facial expression alters their viewing behavior, especially in the face of threat.

It is with heavy heart that I write this, unfortunately, due to circumstances beyond my control Pet Smart Pet Services is ceasing trading. I would like to thank everyone who over the years brought me into your family and allowed me the priviledge of looking after your pets. There are too many of you from over the last 15 years to name individually, so please forgive me genralising this post. I do hope that you will all stay in touch with me, I would love to hear about the crazy goings on of your pets in the coming years.
Also to my collegues in the pet industry, thank you for the support over the years, being a pet sitter is one of the loneliest jobs in the world, you made me carry on for so long!
This isn't goodbye I hope, just see you soon!! Smarties forever! Cherise ###

Hello everyone! My car broke down yesterday afternoon and had to be towed away. So unfortunately, i have no transport to get around, so there will be no walks today i'm afraid. Everyone will receive a full refund for today. I will keep everyone posted. Cherise

Everyone will know Phoebe, she is the longest lady with Pet Smart, she is my second in command and decides which route we take each day in the park.
Can everyone please send their prayers and positive thoughts to her and her family? She has a bad back and recovery may take a long time.

I'm devastated today. I just got the news that our gorgeous girl Brandy passed on to Rainbow bridge this morning due to heart complications. She was always such a gentle lady with such a great bouncy personality. She'll be missed around here and our hearts are with her family at this very difficult time. Sleep tight Princess Brandy Boo, we love you. Xx

Hi everyone! Just a quick note to keep you informed of the new laws regards dogs being microchipped!
As of September 1st 2015, it is a criminal offence to buy or sell a puppy without a micro chip. Which means, if you buy a puppy or attempt to move it from the breeding home and it isn't microchipped, you can be fined upto €5,000 and/or imprisonment.

Below are a few points you need to know.

- If your puppy was born on or after June 1st 2015, it MUST be micro chipped BEFORE leaving the breeders premises or at 12 weeks old. Whichever happens first.

- The ONLY people legally allowed to implant and register microchips are
1) vets
2) vet nurses
3) trained lay people within rescue organisations.

- The only governmental approved databases are
1) Fido.ie
2) Irish Kennel Club
3) Animark

- If your dog was born before June 1st 2015, you have until March 31st to make sure you comply with the law.

- If getting your dog microchipped, please make sure to take 2 forms of ID with you ( yes I am serious, this is a serious law!!) one form must be photo ID the other a recent bill with your current address. Without this, your dog cannot be microchipped.

-If your dog is already microchipped but you are not sure of the status of the chip you can go to chipcheck.ie and you can get a cert sent to you.

The new law is to benefit everyone who owns a dog, and hoping to eradicate puppy farms here in Ireland, as well as to stop the dumping and illegal movement of dogs in terrible conditions to other countries.
