Delighted to help Jen and her puppy Sadbh. It was great to see a real improvement for Jen to be able to take Sadbh out and about without her pulling or the lead getting caught up.

Lots of different training with these doggies. From toilet training, leash walking, reactivity, barking, introduction of a young pup around an older dog & one dog that's not happy around men.
Some require a few sessions so we can monitor their progress, it takes time and patience.
Well done to Bruno, Pippin, Ollie, Lilah, Monty.

A lovely mix of recent 121 puppy training, all requiring different needs. 🐾

Annie gets very excited to meet anyone coming in the door, so we practiced lots of sitting, building on impulse control and no jumping. 🥳

Simba was very happy to go into his crate after our session for a long snooze. It's a step by step process as he needs to be safe when the family need to go out, just for a short while at the moment. He loves going in now. 😴

Remi was a superstar with his recall but as he's still a young pup it's not reliable so it was best to have him on a longline (not an extendable lead) so mum can practice Recall with him under control. 👍🏻

Sadbh practiced her loose lead walking which was really important as we don't want her pulling mum anymore in the wheelchair. 😇

Looking forward to our next session, keep up the great work.

This is a great post for anyone thinking of getting a puppy.
However, there are so many lovely young dogs and pups that are staying in our dog shelters around the country that need a new home.

With recent research done by the Kennel Club I would like to take this opportunity to try to help you make the right choice when choosing a puppy.
The Kennel Club has confirmed 3 out of 10 puppies die before their first birthday. Many more develop health and behavioural issues which result in expensive vet/ training bills or lead to the puppy being dumped at a shelter. The puppies in question came from puppy farms or illegitimate backyard breeders.
How do I know this? A reputable breeder will ALWAYS tell you to give the puppy/ dog back to them if there was a problem or an unforeseen circumstance occurred where you could no longer care for them.
It can be very difficult for some to tell whether the breeder they are choosing is a reputable one. I’ve complied a list of questions to ask them. Please be vigilant. Rogue breeders earn a lot of money so they will go to extreme lengths to pull the wool over your eyes.
GOOD SIGNS TO WATCH OUT FOR:
✅ They ask you a lot of questions about why you want the puppy/ why you choose their breed/ what you plan to feed the puppy/ where they will sleep/ how much exercise do you plan to give them etc
✅ They are honest with you about the amount of exercise the breed will need/ what to feed them/ how to maintain their health/ how to take care of their coat/ how often they should visit the groomer
✅ They are happy to discuss the health and breeding lines of the parents and even better if they can show you health test results to show the parents are healthy. Dogs with problems will pass them onto their pups. Such tests include but are not limited to…..
⚠️DNA Testing
⚠️Elbow Dysplasia Screening
⚠️Eye Screening
⚠️Heart Screening
⚠️Hip Dysplasia Screening
⚠️Respiratory Function Grading
✅ They ask you to keep in touch and let them know how the pup is getting on and to contact them should you need any further advice.

Training package all completed for these Puppies, Adolescent & Adult dogs. Well done to all the guardians for doing the training each week, keep up the good work.
Even with our adult dogs, they might need a bit of help to correct a behaviour. 👏🏻

Love this photo of Bailey flying on his walks and he is doing so well with his training, too. Mum is really working on No Jumping Up when we arrive to collect him. 👍🏻😁🐾
In the last two photos, we have Kaia and Rufus. I'm taking them out on solo training walks for their reactivity to other dogs. It takes time and a lot of patience to be able to walk them in areas with other dogs. There is no quick fix for reactive dogs and some may always be on edge but better to get some help to reduce their anxiety.
