Points to note This is a fan page and is no way connected with SDCC.
1. Only us humans think that size matters. If your dog is "afraid" of big dogs, it probably means you are afraid of big dogs, or your dog needs to be socialised better. You need the park more then we need you. please remeber this before you use aggression in response to ignorance or fear.
2. This may seem unfair, but children s
hould not enter the park. Shouting, screaming and running around can excite other dogs, accidents can happen and your child may get hurt. Children should stay in the coral. the dog park is there for your dog to exercise and have fun. They can play with your child safely at home.
3. Please respect other dog owners at all times. If your dog isn't socialised or had difficulty entering the dog park, respect the advise of others, especially if their dogs are already happily playing in the park. Sometimes it is your dog and the rest of the world is not wrong.
4. Do not carry your dog in and out of the dog park. You are teaching them very bad habits and damaging your dogs psychology. Let the dogs sort themselves out. They understand their conversation better then us sometimes. If you're unsure or afraid, seek help/advise from another dog owner in the park.
5. If a fight does break out, seperate the dogs, place them on leads if necessary and keep them walking. Do not remove the dogs immediately from the park, as you will only create problems for your dog in the future. Try resocialise the dogs again before leaving the park so they do not leave as enemies.
6. Please clean up after your dog and use the bins provided. Water is available for your dog in the dog park.
7. Not all barking means agression. Dogs bark for alll sorts of reasons and some just like to bark. Much the same way that some children like to scream and shout for fun.
8. On entering the park, remove your dogs lead and stroll into the centre of the park. yes other dogs will sniff and welcome your dog. yes your dog may be uncertain, they may even be afraid, but let them sort it out between themselves. Give it 5 mins and your dog will be happily running around with all the other dogs.
9. There are no bad dogs just bad owners. And a good owner can produce a great dog. Please keep an open mind when using the dog park. Everyone there just wants their dog to have fun and they may be able to help you solve a problem with your loved one.
10. Have fun
