Today young Honour retrieved a woundie from cover on the far bank. Wind blowing from the east made it feel colder than it was.

My partner in crime for much of this season has been Yeats. We have tried, with little success to bag a bird or two by rough shooting the bogs and empty fields around home. The value of a dog that will walk to heel cannot be underestimated when undertaking this type of shooting.

Honour, aged 9 months. Showing early signs of promise for a long working career. There are some dogs I would not dream of exposing to game and hunting at this age. There are the few exceptions. Her grandfather, Bertie, made his debut on the shoot at 8 months. Honour, has always been a sensible puppy showing maturity beyond her young age. That doesn't mean one can throw all caution aside. With the good ones, you need to be extra careful because they often don't need their human for guidance and can quickly become self employed 🙄. So proceed with care.

Riverrun Honour aged 9 months. Followed a wounded duck along a drain filled with ice yesterday, retrieved nicely to hand, ( nice to have some one witness this), Showing game sense well beyond what I would expect at this young age.

Ir Sh Ch Sea 'nLand Master of the Sea for Riverrun.
It's been a fun summer competing with this young boy.
Still just over 2 years old from limited showing in the UK he currently has 1CC and 1RCC.
1st in Beginner at the UK Autumn CBRC working test.
Multiple group placings in Ireland this summer and we tried our paw at Champion stakes this year and placed in every champion stakes we entered.
Looking forward to a little change of pace in the coming months to hunt up some duckies.
