CLONGIFFEN STUD is a family run stud farm managed by Robert Honner. Located near Enfield in the heart of the famed bloodstock county of Meath, Clongiffen Stud has been associated with the breeding and training of National Hunt horses that dates back to the 1880. Consecutive Irish Grand National winners Princess Hilda and Mavis Meath (carried a record weight of 12st–12Lbs to victory) won Ireland’s
premier steeplechase in 1899 and 1900 at Fairyhouse were trained at Clongiffen by Larry Hope. Larry Hope also had the distinction of winning the Irish Grand National on board Springfield Maid in 1892. All the stallions standing at Clongiffen are proven racecourse performers and are sound in every respect with veterinary certificates of soundness lodged with the Irish Thoroughbred Association. In addition our stallions represent top class sire lines and come from outstanding female families that have proven themselves for generations.
