REST IN PEACE, PJ O’DRISCOLL

A very sad loss occurred on Saturday January 25th, for the town of Ennis & surrounds, the veterinary world & most importantly PJ’s family, neighbours & wide circle of friends.

PJ graduated from college in 1965 & came to look after the animals of Ennis & Clare in 1970. He continued to work in Summerhill until 2013 when he retired from clinical practice but continued some veterinary work right up to 2020.

He showed such care, devotion & compassion in his career, to patients, clients & colleagues alike. Those of us who were lucky enough to know & work with PJ have so many great memories of an absolute gentleman & a legend of a vet.

To Enda, Barry, Sean, Miriam and the extended O’Driscoll family we offer you our sincere condolences. As a mark of respect Summerhill Veterinary Hospital will close on Wednesday January 29th from 11am-2pm as we say a final farewell.

We are open since 12 as planned. If you are coming in and have no electricity bring a flask we will happily boil the kettle for you. Or charge your phones during your appointment. Be careful on the roads.

‼️ Status red wind warning Friday Jan 24th‼️

Please be advised that our clinic will remain closed until after the red warning passes for the safety of staff & clients. At the moment we hope to open at 12pm and remain open until 6pm. But this is an ever changing situation. We will update here if things don’t go to plan. All appointments tomorrow morning have been contacted & rescheduled.

Our emergency on call vet will be available to contact in the event of any “Emergency” for our registered clients. Please call 0656828215.

Big changes for our Eoghan. Not only has he gotten married but he is also moving back up home. We will miss him so much. He is such a gentleman & a fantastic vet. Clare’s loss is Monaghans gain. Best of luck to himself, Shauna, Éada (& Benji) as they start this chapter of their life together.

Our final photo in the 2024 All Ireland Hurling Final build-up is of Toby Hegarty. He’s not travelling tomorrow with Lucie & Lola but that’s not stopping him from getting in on the action & supporting our fantastic hurlers. 🟡🔵🟡
