We don't shoe our horses 🐎 (unless they really need it) until πŸ“† 6 weeks before the sales. We believe it hardens up their hooves and you end with a better foot. Our farrier, Sam Brennan, comes in every month to tend to their feet and ensure they arrive in tip toe condition to the sales πŸ’ͺ

✨This week we are hosting the twitter account of (which we highly recommend you to follow πŸ™Œ) and today we are going to show you how we "drive" our horses, which means teaching them how to steer and stop before we actually get on them. It’s one of the nicest parts of the game , starting them out when they are all full potential πŸš€

More people die from lung cancer in Ireland than any other type of cancer, it’s the biggest killer causing more deaths than breast and prostate cancer together all over the world. πŸ‘©β€βš•οΈ

If there is anyone left out there that doesn't know my story, I was diagnosed with Terminal Cancer in June 2021 and I was more than happy to share my story again to support The Marie Keating Foundation in a really important awareness campaign for Lung Cancer Awareness month”

This is an opportunity for us to do some good so 𝐩π₯𝐞𝐚𝐬𝐞 𝐬𝐑𝐚𝐫𝐞 the hell out of this and let's get the message out πŸ“’

The Poster To Catch Lung Cancer for Lung Cancer Awareness Month is only one action the Marie Keating Foundation is taking to reduce lung cancer deaths. They also need your voice to call on the Minister for Health to introduce free lung screening in Ireland for people at high risk of the disease.

Please sign the petition today and add your voice to the call to save more people from lung cancer in Ireland.
I've signed.

The Bloodstock Connection

Specialising in training yearlings and developing them into unraced two year olds ready for the yearly Breeze Up Sales Johnny Hassett lives and breathes horses. Growing up in Ballyhannon surrounded by horses, it is only natural that Johnny developed excellent instincts for the business. His father, John Snr. is also a trainer and a vet and horses have been a part of Ballyhannon House for over four generations.

Johnny spent five years working with Todd Pletcher’s New York division in the US and on his return to Ireland spent two years working at Aidan O’Brien’s two year old yard, during which time expensive talents as Hold That Tiger and Van Nistelrooy came under Johnny's care, along with the Racing Post Trophy one-two Brian Boru and Powerscourt. Johnny set up his own Breeze-Up business, The Bloodstock Connection, at the family’s training facilities at Ballyhannon House in Quin, Co. Clare. Success followed and in 2008, Johnny set records at the Guineas Breeze Up Sales with an Exceed and Excel filly which sold for 470,000 guineas having been purchased as a yearling for only 20,000 guineas. Over the years many successes followed.

Today, Ballyhannon facilities include 60 acres prime pasture, 26 Stables, 1,000Sq Meter Indoor Arena, 6 horse walker and a 1-mile sand/glass/fiber gallop with qualified and experience staff on hand. Currently The Bloodstock Connection has twenty Breezers in training ready for the upcoming Sales.
